3005 - Is there anything I can do tonight?(1)Category: Technical SupportJanuary-22-2013 7:49 PM PST (10 years ago) Go to Blizzard forum post
Or should I just give up?

I hadn't played since maybe August of last year when we all burnt out. Recently we decided to play a game with newbie character, only using the money they earn, no AH. We started last Wed, everything was fine.

Tonight, my friend in California can login, with two accounts, just fine. I let him login as my account, no problem (other than answering secret question).

I can't login. 3005. Wed was fine last week. Tonight I'm hosed.

Is there anything I can do to fix it? Clear out a temp file? Make a change in an old INI file, registry?

Any help would be appreciated.

AsFarAsLarry,

Could you try what's described in the following two articles please?

AsFarAsLarry,

Can you post your D3Debug.txt file? It's located in the main Diablo III game folder. Edit out your account name first though. It may or may not be appearing in a few places in the file since you can't log in currently.

AsFarAsLarry,

Do you use a firewall anywhere? It's not connecting at all to us for logging in as if it were being blocked.

Can you try running a trace route as described in the following article, but instead of the destination what they say, try going to us.actual.battle.net

https://us.battle.net/support/en/article/performing-a-traceroute

The command you'd use would be tracert us.actual.battle.net > desktop\tracert.txt

AsFarAsLarry ,

We've been having a problem lately with people in the Arizona (Phoenix) area having bad latency issues with World of Warcraft. I haven't seen them or related issues in Diablo III yet though. The problem appears to be related to the hand off between Cogentco and ATT which is where your trace is being routed through as well. I'm not saying this is your problem but it seems it might be more than a coincidence. We don't have a solution at this time but the two companies are already working together to get it resolved.

There's a long thread on our Wow forum about it in case you're interested.

I've also issued a reset to your Battle.net account which has been known to help with this sort of thing.
