InQuiry: Lag Solution (Tunneling Service)(1)Category: Technical SupportJanuary-17-2013 7:35 PM PST (10 years ago) Go to Blizzard forum post
I need enlightenment regarding this matter
(please dont ask me about my PC setup and ISP - i already checked and validated and compared them with others)
After Patch 1.06 I am not constantly struggling with Lag - ONLY WITH D3.
I have read a few forums sites even from my ISP and none can provide a solution.

What I found out is that a lot of players had to use a 3rd party application to lessen this burden.
I understand that using VPN can get you banned, but how about tunneling service?

I hope you can recommend something that wont get me banned.
or at least do not ban people for using VPN/Tunneling service to be able to play D3.

PS: i hope to get a clear and complete explanation from a blue post.

DaRez,

You won't have any disciplinary actions taken against an account based on how it connects to us. Using an unsupported method like a VPN or proxy service just means we can't assist if you have trouble connecting. Using such services also may trigger our account security detection which can temporarily lock an account out until the user's identity is confirmed, but that's not the same at all as having an account banned. For many people, the hassle involved isn't worth it, but that's a user's choice to make.
