My friend was banned, an absolute mistake!(1)Category: Technical SupportJanuary-12-2013 9:21 PM PST (10 years ago) Go to Blizzard forum post
***Simple version***
My friend did not cheat.
The program called "Xunlei Accelerator" was not for cheating purpose.

***Full version***
My friend and I play everyday, faithfully, just for the fun of teamwork. And today, he found his account banned, for suspect of using cheating software. Well I'm so sure that he did not use any of those, because we are the real ppl who play for fun, not money.

So he tried to appeal by tickets, and quickly - I mean, so quickly, got another automated answer saying it's checked and confirmed, on a Saturday. Seriously? Did you really spend time on that ticket? Is this how you treat your users? Taking away months of hard work just because you don't know what you are doing exactly? From 100% legit players?

Now you have effectively ruined my friend's experience. And I'm afraid that I'm leaving as well, because - heh - all my other friends have dropped out and are playing something else. I have spend over $1K on D3 already, and now I've just lost all reasons and interests to keep on playing.

Just imagine, you are Toys'r'us and you yank toys from kids' hands because you suspect them breaking it. Is this how you do your business?

JeffChen,

MissCheetah is correct in that we will not discuss an account with anyone but the registered owner. A public forum is not the place for that as well.

While I can not go into any details, I can confirm that we do not take actions against accounts utilizing non-supported methods to connect to our game servers. VPNs can be used, they're just not supported so if you have trouble getting one working properly, you won't be able to get any technical support for it.
