| Account locked due to suspicious activity???(1) | Category: Technical SupportMay-5-2013 11:45 AM PDT (10 years ago) ![]() | |
| Will keep it short: 1. Logged out late last night (4/5 May 2013). 2. Upon logging in this morning, discovered that due to 'suspicious activity' my account was locked. 3. Referred to e-mail account (this is where it get hards to tell if Blizz notification or scam, as since BC in WoW been receiving scam mails on a regular basis) notifying me that my account was locked due to me attempting to sell it...... 4. Re-made password etc as directed and now all ok. Now sofar as support goes: 1. Via reporting system, no way of actually specifying problems due to limited options, therefore one has to effectively lie in order to report certain issues. 2. Considering the alleged security of B.net, to infer that I (the account holder) was attempting to sell my account, shouldn't it be possible for said 'detectives' to ascertain that i had not in fact attempted to do so. 3. Personally, I would rather speak to a GM in-game (as per WoW) to discuss issues in real-time rather than merely receiving pre-written automated responses that bear the 'No-reply' marker and invariably do not answer the questions posed. 4. Concerning security of my system, I can assure you that due to the nature of my work, my computer and it's connection has fort knox style security (I am notified immediately and in great detail should an attempt be made to hack my system). Please, should a blue comment, kindly do not post referrals etc and lock this thread, allow me to respond. Many thanks in advance. | ||

| I'm afraid that I'm not really sure what you're asking or trying to say here OneHungLow, but I'll respond to some of your points. Posted by: OneHungLow 1. Via reporting system, no way of actually specifying problems due to limited options, therefore one has to effectively lie in order to report certain issues. Not sure why this has been brought up here as you don't need to go through the ticket submission, just click the link in the email and reset the password. However, feel free to email any feedback you have on the form to CSFeedbackEU@blizzard.com. Posted by: OneHungLow 2. Considering the alleged security of B.net, to infer that I (the account holder) was attempting to sell my account, shouldn't it be possible for said 'detectives' to ascertain that i had not in fact attempted to do so. Again, I have no idea where this is coming from as we have not accused you of selling your account at all. Did you get this information from an email? Perhaps it was a fake? | ||

Again, there should be no need to contact our support team for this at all OneHungLow, it's a completely automated process. :/ Posted by: OneHungLow 4. That is good to hear. =)

Posted by: OneHungLow @Natryndon: Cheers for the swift response. With regards to the 'Selling my account', first showed upon the second time of attempting to log-in, an actual notification directing me to B.net (not seen before). Also the e-mail, I did later confirm as genuine and again stipulated lock due to attempts to sell my account. I'm afraid none of that was from us OneHungLow. Either something very strange is going on or you misunderstood the messaging. If you DO try to sell your account you won't be informed in-game, the account will simply be banned and an email sent explaining the situation. You certainly wouldn't be able to regain access to the account! As far as we're aware, there is no such message even coded into the game at all. As for 'evidence', well again there is no accusation - I am baffled as to where this is coming from. Blizzard are not accusing you of anything whatsoever, we're simply protecting the account from possible damage. The only reason this happened is because the IP you were trying to login from is considerably different from the last one that logged into the account - it's as simple as that. We're glad to hear that everything is OK for you now though and wish you a fun day!

| Good advice from Daiblohel there. I'm going to lock this post as it's getting a bit old now.
