| Hi, so I recently got a new gaming machine and am a bit baffled at Diablo 3 still not running smoothly all the way. And I'm not talking only about Rakkis Crossing, in most areas I run into huge staggering. The FPS counter doesn't really go below 30, but the game responsiveness is horrible. I know there are problems with loading stuff in when entering a new area, but it's not just that. Simply when whirlwinding into a big pack, the staggering is horrible and I have an "effective FPS" of about 1. My current specs are: i7-3770k @4.2GHz 32GB RAM @2.4GHz Nvidia 680 at stock clock Samsung 840 SSD Now I know the CPU could be clocked higher, and there are faster GPUs available, but this is still pretty high end. I have checked that there's absolutely no thermal throttling going on ever. For a game that's pretty simplistic, this should be enough. I'm playing at 2560x1440 with full graphics. I haven't really tested how low I need to go to have the game run smooth and stable. I have tried everything on the "Diablo III Video Performance Issues (PC)" (https://sea.battle.net/support/en/article/diablo-iii-video-performance-issues) page. The only thing I can think of is that this is actually a networking issue. According to mtr there's a pretty big latency hop inside Telia's network, but that could be because of router local packet arbitration. And the lack of offline mode kind of prevents me from really testing the network hypothesis. So, what gives? | ||

| This definitely sounds like a connection issue apl, not a performance/graphics one. What's your latency like in general? Have you updated your network drivers/router firmware recently? Have you tried restarting the router completely? Are you using cable/wireless networking? Do you have any security software interfering? | ||
