Fps drops or lagging(1)Category: Technical SupportJanuary-29-2013 7:22 AM PST (10 years ago) Go to Blizzard forum post
OK I am playing since start, had little pause and now get back to playing.
I have:
    intel g840@2.8GHz
    kingston hyperX khx1600c9d3x2k2/8gx
    MSI nvidia GTX650ti OC PE
    Windows 7 ultimate x64

When d3 was released i had msi 450gts and d3 worked fine without single fps drop or lag and now I have constantly fps drops and lagging and sometimes fps drop to 1 or even freezes sometimes and mobs ofcourse kill me.

I had try every solution and no luck at all. It is always same. I am playing swtor, guild wars 2 and path of exile and all of these games work on ultra high settings without lagging and fps droping.

I dont know that to do anymore. Game is unplayable like this. Blizz says its not problem on their side but I see many people complaining about this problem with much more better hardware configurations than me. It is not my connection because I repeat dont have problem in other games and I have read that guys with 10MBs with i7 also have this problem.

Blizzard is not responding :(

Hi Saki, sorry for the late reply.

The first steps, if you haven't taken them already, are to fully update your operating system and graphics/motherboard drivers.

Next, it's worth performing a disk defragment in case it's the HDD transfer that's slowing the game down.

If the issue persists, you should check out Lurdlespor's suggestion here as well as this troubleshooting guide.

Other players experiencing this issue have found that turning on V-Sync or using the FPS limiters have reduced occurrences of in-game stuttering.
