| Have you checked that your operating system's device mixer has Diablo III turned up Redgun and is it showing any evidence of audio output there? | ||

Posted by: Meteorblade Run the game then alt-tab back to your desktop screen. In the System Notification area of the taskbar (the little icons next to the date and time) there should be a white speaker icon. Right-click that and choose Open Volume Mixer. That will give you a set of sliders, one for the master volume, and other individual sliders for any active application that uses sound. Confirm you haven't got Diablo III set to be a lot quieter than the system volume. Yes, this is what I was getting at in my original comment. If this all checks out though, you should try following DOS' advice and update your audio drivers. | ||

| OK could you try one more time for me please Redgun, but this time run a Windows Update first and make sure that you are manually uninstalling the old drivers and then download and install the latest ones directly from the manufacturers website. If that still does not work, we will need a DXDiag report before we're able to offer further advice. | ||

| You could use the Pastebin service perhaps? | ||

| OK, we're not 100% but it looks like there is a piece of software interfering with the way Diablo III picks up your sound. I can't go into too many details here as we cannot support 3rd party software or condone the usage of some pieces. However, you might want to try uninstalling "Tunebite" to see if it improves the situation. | ||

| OK well that is good to hear Redgun. I guess with issues like this it's very difficult to pinpoint an exact cause (especially remotely) but please let us know if this happens to you again. For our own curiosities sake at least we'd be interested to know exactly what causes it. | ||
