| I feel like I am being bullied into adding an authenticator to my account. Tried it and i didn't like it. My ISP uses PPPoE connections with dynamic IPs to provide Internet services nation wide. Because of this, and the fact that I don't like to have an authenticator attached to my acoount, I have to login to BattleNET almost every time using the BattleNET Reset Password Form. After numerous complaints to Blizzard via tickets their advice was to take the matter to the forums as Customer Support is unable to collect suggestions offered by our players, our developers are constantly reviewing suggestions offerred by our players on the Battle.net forums. Their other option was to increase my ISP bill by contacting your ISP to enquire about the possibility of switching to a static IP rather than dynamic, since dynamic IPs can cause a large number of networking issues, not just related to Blizzard games. in order to avoid further problems (I am a PhD in computer science and never heard of any problems dynamic IP cause for non-server network devices, but they must know better...) Now this to me is bulling. I payed full price for certain services, and I am really bothered by the fact that I have to play extra in order to have a proper login procedure. There are quite a lot of methods out there that could be implemented in order to provide the same level of security without this crappy account suspension every other login (like for example implement the login from diablo3 to all battle.net web services, starcraft and wow, etc; it's not like different information is required when resetting the password). Anyways sorry for the rant but this is highly frustrating.... and i am sure there are manny more which are in the exact same position. | ||

| Hmm, some good feedback there Meehien but I have to say that 'bullying' is quite harsh. Do you feel 'bullied' into using a password too? All of it, even playing the game itself, is completely voluntary and if it has gotten to the severe stage of feeling victimised by something you do completely and utterly of your own accord then you might want to think carefully about how you proceed in the future. It can be inconvenient, there's no denying that, but every authentication system carries a certain amount of inconvenience. When I log on to Diablo III, I don't want to waste time entering my password but I know that without it the amount of inconvenience I would suffer would be exponentially higher and the same applies to Battle.net's security systems - It's a few extra seconds of inconvenience that prevents a huge amount of damage to millions of accounts around the world. If you would like to offer ideas for alternative security solutions then you are free to do so here in the General Discussion forum. Finally don't forget that the Authenticator is completely free is you have a compatible mobile device. | ||
