Diablo causing instant machine power loss and reboot(1)Category: Technical SupportFebruary-12-2016 9:52 AM PST (7 years ago) Go to Blizzard forum post
Been having an issue lately while kid game my entire machines power cuts out and reboots. I am a computer technician by trade so immediately thought hardware issue or potential software corruption due to a recent upgrade to Windows 10. Took my entire tower apart, blew out dust, and reseated everything. Changed cables from the PSU (as they are full modular) and proceeded to run scans on every piece of hardware. Everything passed with flying colors. Decided to go with a fresh OS install, so purchased a new SSD and installed there. After all drivers were updated to latest versions, installed and played Diablo. Same issue starting occuring a few hours into playing. Double checked all voltage levels, memory timings, and various other BIOS settings. Ran stress tests for every component for hours with no issues or anything even close to high temperatures. Had another technician give a second opinion and they came to the same conclusion that Diablo is causing this. Can post dxdiag and system event logs if requested when I get home. Event log only shows generic errors of kernel power loss. Any ideas would be much appreciated. On a side note, I'm using an R9 290 and tried both the current stable drivers as well as the latest crimson beta.

Megadeth,

Did you replace the power supply?
