Game doesn't start?(1)Category: Technical SupportJanuary-29-2016 3:11 AM PST (7 years ago) Go to Blizzard forum post
I uninstalled back on Sunday I think and recently reinstalled. Now that it's installed it launches but never gets to the login or character screen. The Diablo 3 logo pops up and after ~10 seconds, disappears and allows me to attempt to relaunch. I've attempted to scan+repair multiple times as well as manually trying to update the files. I've even went back, uninstalled, and reinstalled. I've also deleted the launcher and repaired it. I've also done all of this while allowing Windows to run the application/launcher as Administrator. I've also restarted the computer after the second reinstall. I never had problems running the game when I had it previously installed.

Running Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit, Saphire Radeon R7 265, AMD 6300, and 8GB DDR3 ram.

Kaze,

Could you please post some information about your computer? You can find this information in the Direct X Diagnostic Tool:

Press Windows Key + R.
Type DxDiag and press Enter.
In the DxDiag window, at the bottom, click Save All Information.
Name the file "dxdiag" and click Save. (note where it's been saved so you can find it)

Could you also post your D3Debug.txt file if it exists? It's located in the main Diablo III game folder.

Kaze,

I know they're long but there really isn't way to reduce them. We don't really need all of it but it's easier just to post it all than selectively cut out some parts. We also don't need both the standard and 64 bit versions, one or the other will do.

One thing I'd try first is simply setting the desktop to use the monitor's native resolution of 1440 x 900.

Current Mode: 1280 x 800 (32 bit) (75Hz)
Monitor Name: Generic PnP Monitor
Monitor Model: X191W
Monitor Id: ACRAD95
Native Mode: 1440 x 900(p) (74.984Hz)

I'd also like to see the D3Prefs.txt file that should be in your My Documents\Diablo III folder.
