| Possible Video card issues- unable to run game(1) | Category: Technical SupportNovember-13-2015 6:48 AM PST (7 years ago) ![]() | |
| I recently resurrected my old gaming laptop which has been living under my bed for the past 4 years. I did a fresh install of the operating system and to my knowledge installed all needed drivers- maybe I missed something else, I would like some technical support. The specs are: Dual core 2.26 / 2.26 4gb ram / windows vista home premium 64 bit Nvidia gforce 9800m gts w/ ~1gb ddr3 I installed the game and everything and when I click launch I get an error and the game does not run, I know initially it was because I did not completely install my video card, but I did that now. I have the nvidia device manager program, and under my computer it now shows my video card under the computer specs- assuming that fixed the problem I restarted and launched the game again. This time when I clicked run game- I got a message saying something to the effect of -your video driver may not run properly in Diablo 3- I clicked run anyway and I got pretty much the same windows error. I am fairly certain that my video card is acceptable enough to run the game- but maybe not? Is there anything else I can try, or anything important I may have forgotten to install/do? | ||

| KandyKane, Could you please post some information about your computer? You can find this information in the Direct X Diagnostic Tool: Click on Start Click on Run Type in: dxdiag (In Vista, type dxdiag in the search field) Hit Enter or OK Click on the Save All Information button at the bottom, and create a dxdiag text file, and copy and paste it ALL here. ______________________________________________________________ I'm available in the forums Monday - Friday 6:00 am - 3:00 pm Pacific Time, Feedback? - https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/Omrakos | ||

| KandyKane, Ideally, you'd want to try and find newer video drivers but you already have the latest release Nvidia put out before stopping support for your card on Vista, released "Driver Date/Size: 12/29/2012". If you were running Windows 7, Nvidia has much newer drivers (released 11/10/2015) which may resolve your issue but I can't be certain. when I click launch I get an error What's the error you're getting? ______________________________________________________________ I'm available in the forums Monday - Friday 6:00 am - 3:00 pm Pacific Time, Feedback? - https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/Omrakos | ||
