| I'm getting an error when trying to update or install Battle.net desktop app and I'm prevented from playing games. Full Error: C:\ProgramData\Blizzard Entertainment\Battle.net\Cache\36\b2\36b27cd911b33c61730a8b82c8b2495fd16e8024fc3b2dd308861c77a852941.c.auth is either not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error. Try installing the program again using the original installation media or contact your system administartor or the software vendor for support. Attempted solutions: 1. Deleted the battle.net folder and cache in the program data folder 2. Uninstalled and reinstalled from scratch. | ||

| Mikeatron, It's just a simple installer really, it's not doing anything special. Try booting in selective startup once and then seeing if it will install. make sure you're logging in with an account with administrative rights. You can also launch the installer as an admin by right clicking the icon that starts it and selecting that option. ______________________________________________________________ I'm available in the forums Monday - Friday 6:00 am - 3:00 pm Pacific Time, Feedback? - https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/Omrakos | ||

| Mikeatron, Stop anything not needed to boot up. I have no way to know what services you have running. We just want to see if another app might be interfering. Were you experiencing this problem before starting up in selective startup mode? If you download and run Malwarebytes, the trial version, does it run properly? ______________________________________________________________ I'm available in the forums Monday - Friday 6:00 am - 3:00 pm Pacific Time, Feedback? - https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/Omrakos | ||

| Mikeatron, This isn't an issue with the game I'm afraid and is likely to be beyond the scope of support we can provide in here. From the sound of it and from what I've been able to read on the symptom, I doubt it's another application currently running causing it. If you Google the string ".c.auth is either not designed to run on Windows", you'll find several articles with the same basic error to give you some ideas. Repairing Windows or even reinstalling it is suggested as something has become corrupted. ______________________________________________________________ I'm available in the forums Monday - Friday 6:00 am - 3:00 pm Pacific Time, Feedback? - https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/Omrakos | ||
