D3 forcing restarts(1)Category: Technical SupportSeptember-14-2015 10:21 PM PDT (7 years ago) Go to Blizzard forum post
While playing Diablo 3 my computer randomly restarts. No BSOD, no warning, nothing. This has been happening randomly at different intervals for the past two weeks. I also have my dxdiag and d3debug files if needed. These are the things I have done on my end,

--Running HWMonitor to check for heat/voltage problems on CPU, video card, and appropriate fan speed.

--Updated all drivers for video card and rolled back drivers to previous versions if they were beta.

--Uninstall and re-install

--Ran memory tests; mdsched.exe

--Ran the game as admin

--Made sure windows was updated

--does not happens with other games (tested WoW on Ultra graphics settings)

--made sure wattage was appropriate

--checked audio drivers (suggestion from another thread with similar issue)

--checked all cables on MOBO to make sure it wasn't a power failure

--scanned SSD for errors

Qdawg65,

What Oscillator is referring to is called a TDR condition. It's stands for Timeout Detection and Recovery.

It's not an easy thing to resolve I'm afraid but underclocking cards seems to be about the most common resolution aside from replacing the video card outright.

You can read about the issue on Nvidia's forum but it's not an issue confined to just that manufacturer at all. It's industry-wide.
