The world of Sanctuary is a BIG place, defended by hundreds of thousands of heroes each and every day. To help you get to know some of these fellow nephalem a little better, we've created the Fresh Meat N' Greet.

The Fresh Meet N' Greet is a recurring series of interviews featuring you, our community. A few times each month, we'll sit down and chat with six different community members, one for each class, and then post our Q&As right here in these forums.

[GENERAL INFO]

Grimiku: What would you like to tell us about yourself?

XinFanChen#1496: Well Met! I was born and raised in China and immigrated to Canada with my parents in 2004. I am currently living in Montreal and a university student trying out new things because I have absolutely no idea what I want to do when I graduate. I know how to speak and write French and English but my Chinese has regressed quite a bit (only know how to write my own name). I am grateful of my parents for taking me to a wonderful country which also happens to be right next to the US (Murica!). People are friendly, the food is great (poutine!!!) and I get to have a little sister! (one child policy of China)

Grimiku: Got any cool hobbies or talents?

XinFanChen#1496: I love singing and listening to music, be it Chinese songs or English songs, if I hear a tune that sounds great I will jump on it and learn its lyrics. I attempted to rap too but the thug life didn’t choose me. I also liked drawing but my abilities are limited to sketches because I cannot work with colors :( Other than these, gaming is definitely my biggest hobby and I would consider myself quite good at it too :D

Grimiku: What’s your history as a gamer, and with the Diablo franchise?

XinFanChen#1496: Growing up in China limited my exposure to video games, I unfortunately missed the hay days of Diablo II (don’t hate me guys) but did get to play some Red Alert and some Age of Empire II growing up. After coming to Canada, I quickly bought Warcraft III and Frozen Throne and played my nights away. I got into Dota afterwards and then onto League of Legends. At the launch of Diablo III, I knew that this was a game that I cannot miss and went on to rack up over 4000 hours with just Monks.

Grimiku: What are some of your favorite games?

XinFanChen#1496: Diablo III, Hearthstone, Starcraft series, League of Legends are definite favorites. But pokemon was also my childhood favorite.

Grimiku: Do you play any other classes?

XinFanChen#1496: I have a zdps sader right now, I enjoy playing the supportive role in group greater rifts. I wish Monks can become the go to zdps class once again.

Grimiku: Are you in a great clan or community? If yes, tell us about them!

XinFanChen#1496: Banned of Gamers is my Diablo III family, awesome clan and community.

Grimiku: What's your most embarrassing moment while playing?

XinFanChen#1496: After being moderately geared in season 3, I finally found an ancient Flying Dragon. I was super excited and tried to roll life per hit onto it. Because life per hit was a single affix available among many possible rolls, I was prepared to spend a lot of materials for this reroll. I went on to deplete my resources without seeing a single life per hit roll. After linking my weapon to others, I found that because my weapon rolled life after kill, it can no longer life per hit... Needless to say, I was super embarrassed to learn this after playing Diablo III for so long.

Grimiku: Okay, what about your most AWESOME moment while playing?

XinFanChen#1496: The beginning of season III was most awesome for me. Me and 3 real life friends formed a group and were ready to grind to level 70 as fast as possible. As we slowly leveled up and were all enjoying the regearing and unconventional builds, I was the first to find a level 61 2 handed weapon and my dps jump was ridiculous. I was super happy to be able to carry my friends and in our first level 70 rift I was able to find a great Spirit Guard and a Depth Diggers and some Rainment pieces. It was a magical night and definitely my most awesome moment while playing. No game can best Diablo III when it comes to the ability of bringing friends together for a fun night of killing monsters and bonding through playing the game we all love.

[FEEL THE WRATH OF YTAR]

Grimiku: What drew you to the Monk?

XinFanChen#1496: I was chosen by Ytar, obviously.

Grimiku: What's your favorite skill (or skill rune), and why?

XinFanChen#1496: Fists fists and more fists! I love dashing into mobs and punch my way through like martial art master. I remember my first time playing Diablo III, on the road to New Tristram, I had only Fists of Thunder at my disposal and my punches blew that lone zombie off screen. I knew then that Monk will become my main class.

Grimiku: What build are you running currently?

XinFanChen#1496: Fire dash being the most damaging solo build right now. I am also equipped with a fully geared EP monk and also a pure gen Monk for some nostalgia.

Grimiku: Is there a particular item you’re after, and how would you change your build if you found it?

XinFanChen#1496: An ancient Flow of Eternity because I my dream is to have a monk for each possible build. Also to prepare for patch 2.3

Grimiku: If you could build a supporting set or Legendary item around a skill, what skill would it be and how would you support it?

XinFanChen#1496: Coming from a Chinese cultural background, I am familiar with the story of the Monkey King aka Sunwuko. One of his key ability is to be able to summon duplicates of himself to fight enemies or confuse them. Currently, Inna 6 piece correspond to this fighting style but I would much prefer seeing this effect on a Sunwuko 6 piece bonus. Not only would the build work with much more harmony, it would free up some necessary slots in order to increase the damage output to the maximum. Being able to use Incense Torch with Crudest Boots sounds very attractive.

Grimiku: If there was one thing you could change about this class, what would it be?

XinFanChen#1496: Change Sweeping Winds to Sweeping Dragon Heads. It occurs to me that there’s a distinct lack of Asian Dragon references in the Monk skill sets. I would love to see two Dragon Heads spinning around Monks as the new Sweeping Winds animation, the cyclone rune would have multiple dragon heads spawned from the punches. I am not very good with name creation so I am counting on you Blizzard’s devs :P

Grimiku: Pick a Monk quote!

XinFanChen#1496: “Break beneath the ENDLESS TIDES!” This quote correspond well with the play style of Monks. The monsters are crushed by relentless assaults from Monks through punches, kicks and palms.

Grimiku: Name one piece of advice that you think every Monk should know.

XinFanChen#1496: Life after kill negates the possibility to get life per hit on your weapon T.T

[WHO'S NEXT?]

Grimiku: Which of your fellow Monks should we also interview?

XinFanChen#1496: Please interview Weegee#6520, Monk lover and a great personality of our community.

Grimiku: What’s another question you’d like to see in these interviews?

XinFanChen#1496: Would you prefer to have the Inna 6 piece bonus as SWK 6 piece bonus?

Grimiku: Laurelynd#1459: Which mob do you dread encountering in GRifts the most and how would you like to have it changed, to make those run-ins a bit more manageable?

XinFanChen#1496: As a melee class, I dread meeting Grotesques because I always seem to die to their death explosion. I know they seem easy to avoid but sometimes I just die to them for no reason.
