| still getting crashes when i click on portals. its random. i used to think it was when i got an act 5 rift but its random now. clicked on a sewers map a few minutes ago and crashed. ive posted about this problem many times and i have no answer. very frustrating. | ||

| IIxProfane, Can you describe what you mean by saying it "crashes"? There's no evidence of a game crash in your D3Debug file. The log just ends which indicates the system or the game stopped responding which is not really a crash and more often a hardware issue. Your system is really on the low-end as far as performance is concerned. | IIxProfane, You may be up against an issue we've seen with AMD APUs and their related video devices when using any AMD drivers starting with the 14.x series, such as what I believe you're using now. Did you ever update them since getting your computer? If so, could you revert to the drivers that came with the computer? | IIxProfane, I'm pretty sure the version 8.17.10.1333 you show listed in the D3Debug file is AMD's Catalyst 14.12 Omega Drivers. It's difficult to find a source for older AMD laptop drivers which is why I suggest using whatever came with your laptop or their support site perhaps. You want to be on any 13.x release, preferably the last of the series, 13.12. Another possible workaround users suggest that I'm not particularly fond of is to manually lower the Hardware Class value the game determined you should use. This value is entered in your D3Prefs.txt file which is in your My Documents\Diablo III folder. You'll see a line similar to: HardwareClass "x" where the value x can be from 1 to 6, 6 being the best and 1 the lowest. If you want to try it, it won't hurt anything. A lower value will just not display as many of the graphical features a higher class machine can handle. Change the value in your file to 1 and play for a while in Act 2 and see if it still has a problem. The older drivers are a better solution though in my opinion. Lastly, another user, Chronos64us, has posted a rather convoluted method of fixing it as well though I've not actually tested it.
