Latency issues(1)Category: Technical SupportApril-4-2016 5:25 AM PDT (9 years ago) Go to Blizzard forum post
Hello Support

for the last 5 or so days I have been having serious issues with latency. Some times is it rubberbanding where latency is about 50 then jumps to over 200o and other times it just never gets below the 1000+.

Thank you for any help
Adam

Troublshooting so far:
- Restarted the computer multiple times
- All drivers are up to date
- I have fully removed Diablo and reinstalled it.
- I have disabled all parts of Norton Antivisus
- I have also tried forcing Diablo onto ANZ servers using "OnlineService.Matchmaking.ServerPool=AU1" but still has the same issues.
- Modem has been restarted multiple times, also done leaving it unplugged for over 60 seconds.
- I have low latency on WoW and other online games. It seems to be Diablo-specific.

- Date/time it started: Approx 31/3/16
- City/Country: Townsville, Queensland Australia
- Internet Provider: Exetel NBN

Both the traceroute and pathping show packet loss very early in the connection, and the traceroute also shows a latency spike on the third hop. I would recommend contacting your internet provider, passing both the traceroute and pathping to them, so they can look into it and make sure everything is working fine.

Connection issues can have many causes, and sometimes they only manifest with specific games or programs. It's important to follow the troubleshooting steps anyway, because we need to discard the most common reasons for connection issues before checking more in-depth. We also need the information I've asked for, since it helps us realize where the issue is happening; that way we can either advice the player, or escalate to our technical team if needed.

So please, if you have connection issues, follow the instructions on my previous response in this thread.
