| So, i know this isn't exactly the right forum for this, but i'm desperate so I'll just give it a try. I'm not the only one having this problem, but i seem to be the only one where NOTHING i do works. So I get the above error message whenever I try to start d2, with or without LOD. I never even get to see the main menu, it just blackscreens and crashes. I tried the following (which happens to be a nice checklist for everyone having the same problem): I reinstalled D2+LOD multiple times from different sources including the official Version on battle.net I patched it to 1.13d I ran in compatibility mode (I tried every mode, but mostly XP(SP2)), checked reduced color mode, pretty much tried any combination at this point. I downloaded glide from svenswrapper.de and ran d2vidtest choosing it. (And 3D and 2D, tried all three) I added -w I included Diablo 2.exe in my DEP exceptions List but all that happens is the kind of blackscreen i get slightly changes and i get the same error message everytime. I even disabled Norton and consulted my local shaman. Nothing works. I run Windows 10 and have a nVidia Geforce GTX 970 and updated my graphic drivers. What is strange is that the battle.net version does install normally, but the version from CD doesn't. I always get a similiar error message at the end of the installation that tells me that some data couldn't be read. something like "setup couldn't copy the following data: SetupDat\Files100\DIIUnin.exe Error 0x0000005: Acces is denied (C:\D2\Installer\Diablnst\Source\DiskUndo.cpp:246)" It's so frustrating, I just want to play this game and don't want to try stuff like a virtual machine, since that's quiet a lot of work just to TRY and make it work. Any suggestions at this point would be a blessing, i'm just so frustrated, man, I never had problems like this with playing d2. | ||
