If that doesn't work try flushing the DNS.

Have attempted to start the game repeatedly after update, go to server authentication and stops there. Have any suggestions why this is happening and how to fix it?

Did both and still no change. Any other ideas to get Diablo 3 to work on your poor maintained servers? Why with this update, the servers have gotten worse. Thank you Blizzard, with the update today, you made your servers bad. The game will not load.

Knightmare65, 1. Are you able to log into other regions? 2. Let's log out of the Battle.net Desktop App and try deleting the Battle.net Cache file to see if that helps.
