Micro-stutter problem with stable 60 fps(1)Category: Technical SupportJanuary-2-2016 12:43 PM PST (9 years ago) Go to Blizzard forum post
Hi all,

I have a high-end gaming rig (Haswell i5, 8GB RAM, GTX 980) and I still have micro-stutters during the game even the FPS counter shows stable 60 fps.

I have tried almost everything. Besides these (https://eu.battle.net/support/en/help/article/d3/275/7100071) I have tried to

- disable/force V-SYNC/Triple buffering via D3DOverrider/Nvidia Control Panel
- set Maximum Pre-rendered frames to 1/2/3 in Nvidia Control Panel
- set Power Management to Maximum Performance in Nvidia Control Panel
- set Antialiasing Gamma Correction to OFF in Nvidia Control Panel
- set ingame Max Foreground/Background fps limiter to 59/60/61/OFF
- limit max fps to 60 with third party software (RTSS) without V-SYNC
- launch the game without Battle.net cliens
- close Agent.exe in the Task Manager
- set Affinity to all core in the Task Manager
- set Priority to High/Real Time in the Task Manager
- run RTSS.exe to enable custom Direct3D support
- edit D3Prefs.txt to disable Trilinear Filtering, set Hardware Class to 1/2 and Sound channels to 16
- do Alt+Tab twice
- scan the drives via Eset Smart Security with 0 threats/errors
- run the game as Administrator

The only thing that helped a little bit that I have set the resolution to Windowed Fullscreen, but I still notice micro-stutters.

The game says that the connection is fine (3 green bars).

I'm really desperate, because I want smooth gameplay with such a high-end PC. Please help. What should I do?

Regards,
hazazs

Hello hazazs,

Could you please provide a DxDiag report so we can take a look into it?
battle.net/support/article/200581

Please use the Code Blocks function when including the contents of the file:

- Press the button pre on top of the space where you normally write your message.
- Paste the content of your file between the square brackets ][

Example:
[ code]<Contents of the file>[/code ]

Also, do you get this issue randomly? Is it in specific areas or just every time you're playing? It happens from the beginning or does it start after being playing for a while?
