Now that its during business hours, can I get some response?
It goesn't seem to be the GPU that gets in the 90c range its the processors. Can someone provide insight as to why only D3 would be causing my computer to get so hot? When I look at the graphs, the processors aren't maxed out at 100% when playing, yet they are getting really hot(90 deg C).
Again, I play other games and they don't do this. What about D3 would cause my processors to work that hard and get that hot?

| I have a Fangbook Evo HX6-100 Gaming Notebook. It is only 10 months old and up until about a month or so ago, I had no problems playing D3 on it either. I noticed about a month ago that playing D3 caused my side exhaust fan to blow air so hot it burned. I downloaded a temperature monitor and D3 is causing my computers CPUs to hit 90c temps. From what I read 100c will basically fry your cpus. The thing is that D3 is the only program doing this. I play LoL all the time. Tonight after I checked and D3 made my laptop hit 90c on all 4 cores, I closed it and loaded of League to see if it did the same thing. I was loaded into a game in League and at 260 fps I never went above 52c on any of the cores or the GPU. While I realize that D3 might have a bit more going on than league does, I find it hard to believe that the game should be causing my computer to work THAT hard to process it. If it was a computer hardware issue I would notice the same issue on anything that was graphic intensive and League at 260 fps wasn't even bringing the CPU temps above it's normal resting state temp. In the past month or 2 has there been anything that might cpu utilization on D3 to be heightened? Is there any other reports about D3 causing laptops or even PCs to run super hot lately? I will do more testing but I can't find anything else that even gets my laptop above 70c temps and D3 is close to frying my cards when I play it, but it seems to be the only thing doing it.

See if setting a maximum foreground and background fps limit helps. I'd suggest 60 for foreground and 8 for background. This is done in-game under the main video options. I'd also check for any third party apps you might have installed that have the ability to control the internal fans and make sure they're properly configured or you night try disabling them. Laptops can easily overheat internal components as well. Saw this and thought I should post as well. I've never had temperature issues with my notebook with D3 before now but in the last month+ something has changed and is causing the CPU temp to go through the roof. I turned down every video setting and am still seeing the temperature going way to high. D3 is the only game causing this and there isn't anything wrong with my machine.
Someone on the D3 reddit just posted this as well and I will try this. I have the max forground FPS set to 60 already and the background is something under 10fps, but if it could be some setting in the video options I will look into messing with those to reduce the heat to see if that helps.

This seems to be my story exactly. The last 8 months my system has had no heat issues with D3. It's less than a year old and runs other games without getting above 60c temps. With D3 I get into the 70s before I have loaded into the game while still setting up what kind of game I want to start. This seemed to happen suddenly one day the past few weeks. The blue above mentioned testing the settings with FPS, so I will try that but my story is similar. It wasn't a gradual progression, literally one day my computer just started burning up playing D3. Wonder if others have experienced this too?
Bump, happening to me after a month of afk. I cap my fps at 35 and 8 for foreground and background, same settings as before. GPU used to heat up to 85 celsius maximum, now it's reaching 95. Seems dangerous to play, anyone have any solutions?
i am having the same issue and it is only when i play diablo 3, i can play skyrim or borderlands 2 just fine but when i play diablo 3 my computer overheats and shuts down, and it only recently started doing this, please help!
I am having this issue as well. My fan just keeps going non stop. I think it even ended up burning out my hardware since starting yesterday I start getting the Windows has shut down blue screen. Happened once after a few minutes playing, and again after a few hours trying to play.

| Gimpzor, If the frame rate is truly capped at 60 Hz, it ought not to be getting too hot unless there's an issue with the laptop's cooling system. First, how exactly have you capped the fps? Second, have you run a temperature monitoring utility to see what the actual temps is that's being reached while playing?
