The world of Sanctuary is a BIG place, defended by hundreds of thousands of heroes each and every day. To help you get to know some of these fellow nephalem a little better, we've created the Fresh Meat N' Greet.

The Fresh Meet N' Greet is a recurring series of interviews featuring you, our community. A few times each month, we'll sit down and chat with six different community members, one for each class, and then post our Q&As right here in these forums.

Up this week for Demon Hunters: DiEoxidE#1987

[GENERAL INFO]

Grimiku: Tell us a bit about yourself.

DiEoxidE#1987: I'm 30 years old, male, like long walks on the beach and enjoy light hearted conversations and interactions looking for the same; as well as my significant other would kill me if she read this. I'm a musician and currently teach music at a high school and Co-Caption head at Carolina Gold Drum and Bugle Corps. I also compose and arrange music for the students I teach as well as outside clients and other organizations and serve as a consultant for percussion groups. On the side, I also work for the NFL. I play for the Carolina Panthers Purrcussion Drumline, so interestingly enough, if anyone reading this have seen any Panthers home games live or on TV, chances are you've seen me at some point :P

Grimiku: Got any cool hobbies or talents?

DiEoxidE#1987: You mean outside of gaming? Well there's this one thing....... but then there's other things like building computers, bowling, laser tag, anything that involves human interaction with a lightly but fun competitive atmosphere. I also played basketball seriously growing up and once thought about playing in the NBA....... but I knew I'd never be tall enough and chose to pursue something more realistic. I'm also really into Martial Arts, and studied Shotokan for 7 years. My grandfather was my sensei (lucky me right?). Needless to say I never won a sparring match against him :/ Are you sure this is Meet N Greet and not a dating site? :D I'm very fortunate to have my main talents and something I'm passionate about be exactly what I do for a living (music).

Grimiku: What’s your history like as a gamer, and with the Diablo series?

DiEoxidE#1987: Well I started off in blizzard gaming with the Starcraft series with Starcraft 64 and yes the game was absolutely terrible on the N64, but the concept was so much fun. My brother and I played split screen all the time..... and was more fun than it sounds right now :P Eventually I got SC BW for the PC and got my !@# kicked happily over and over for a few years. I fell so much in love with the game that I chose to follow blizzard gaming into the next RTS, Warcraft 3 Reign of Chaos.

Being naturally competitive, I knew this was going to be the game in which I climb the ladder seriously. I stayed at the top of the ladders with in the top 5, but it was the expansion, Warcraft 3 The Frozen Throne and Starcraft 2 WoL in which I was good enough to play for a rising pro team and compete in live local tournaments. I was known for incredible micro for an american player which are considered foriegners in the competitive scene and known for innovative yet outragous "omg wtf" strategies and builds that really shouldn't work :P I was never one to completely confine to the meta and often chose to expose my opponents by making them think I'm following standard play. Never really worked vs korean players though lol.

Despite how much fun it was, I decided to retire from serious competitive gaming as it's very difficult to enjoy other aspects of life with so much to keep up with and how much time you must devote to practicing and watching vids to keep up with what's going on in the current meta game. I chose to do this right around the time I got an invitation to D3 beta and a friend of mine told me to give it a try. I never played D1 nor D2 before hand, so I thought I'd be loss in the series. I fell in love with the Demon Hunter, as it allowed me to apply micro and stutter stepping mechanics, things I enjoyed in SC and Warcraft 3, without the pressure and stress involved in competitive gaming and decided to bring over my creativity from those games and apply it to the Demon Hunter. The gameplay mechanics are very well done and smooth and ultimately kept me playing D3 for a long time.

Grimiku: What some of your other favorite games and why?

DiEoxidE#1987: Super Smash Bros series (I did compete competitively in Melee for a short time) is just a whole different take on fighting games and it's innovative. I like a lot of the classic games and would take way too much time to list them all, but currently I enjoy Marvel Heroes 2015 (great blend of MMO and ARPG), DBZ Xenoverse, Super Smash Bros Wii U and Heroes of the Storm. Looking forward to Overwatch at some point.

Grimiku: Do you play any other classes?

DiEoxidE#1987: I play the middle class. Don't think I'd ever make enough to be able to play the upper class, but I'm completely ok with that (They're OP anyways). Surprisingly, I started off D3 at launch playing as the Monk, but I learned quickly that it didn't have the Chuck Norris feel I was hoping so I opted for the Demon Hunter soon after. My second favorite class though is the Wizard and always have been fascinated by the spell set. Didn't really care for the others to be honest.

Grimiku: Are you in a great clan or community? If yes, tell us about them!

DiEoxidE#1987: I'm a member and the co-founder along with FLIGHT, of The Prime Assassins. There's already been interviews with other Prime Assassins answering this same question, but the goal I wanted when first establishing the clan was to provide an outlet for those that wanted to play a Demon Hunter at ranged during a time period where many thought there was only one viable and efficient way of playing a Demon Hunter (face tanking) while having fun for those that wanted to learn.

I was more of an ambassador if you will for ranged play, often having to find ways to keep with the face tanking cousins and continue pushing to show the community that ranged play remains viable with videos, new builds etc. I'd strip down my gear and solo ubers for stutter stepping practice to pushing through entire areas without using an ounce of discipline using knowledge of gameplay mechanics only to push the ceiling of what's possible on the Demon Hunter and then passing on that knowledge to clan members and community. There were quite a few that also did something similar, most notably ActionKungFu with his Hardcore experience. Over time, pushing the ceiling became the standard for the clan and we were known not only for class control but also an outlet for DH knowledge in general.

Over the years, the clan has become more of a family, keeping in contact with each other even when players take breaks from D3. I know I've made some really great friends within the clan and couldn't imagine gaming in the future years without them in whatever games that may be. Needless to say, I'm fortunate that so many have adopted the clan's philosophies and followed along with me during some interesting times and that none what it is today would not be possible without you all!

Grimiku: What's your most embarrassing moment while playing?

DiEoxidE#1987: Oh man... just one? Well, I was never any good at video editing, in fact I suck. I was recording a non M6 greater rift run and happen to have pandora playing music on my computer at the time. Needless to say, the program recorded the music too and when my video was published on youtube, all sound was muted due to you know what.... Because I sucked at editing, I didn't know how to change that, so you just see this glaring message "sound muted due to copyright infringement laws" and... well..... ya..... :P

Grimiku: Okay, what about your most AWESOME moment while playing?

DiEoxidE#1987: This is also hard lol. I've set many goals and reached them. I'd probably have to say the time someone doubted player ability having an impact when playing a Demon Hunter. The thread is deleted, but the main argument was I wouldn't be doing what I was with the class without the DPS I had, so I chose to solo MP 10 Ubers with a white weapon.

[VENGEANCE IS MINE]

Grimiku: What drew you to the Demon Hunter?

DiEoxidE#1987: The fact that micro can have a huge impact on the class performance. Also the skills look really cool and the class just felt fluid.

Grimiku: How do you prefer to exact vengeance? Do you trap your prey with sentries and snares, or eliminate them from just out of reach with well-placed arrows?

DiEoxidE#1987: A mixture of both, though I prefer to start dealing damage the moment enemy approaches the edge of my monitor.

Grimiku: What's your favorite skill (or skill rune), and why?

DiEoxidE#1987: Shadow Power Glide. Not only did the visual look really awesome, but the speed boost allowed for awesome positioning and made avoiding things through stutter stepping that much more fluid.

Grimiku: What build are you running currently?

DiEoxidE#1987: Currently not active at the moment, but I was running the "man up" spec for some down to earth light hearted fun :P

http://us.battle.net/d3/en/forum/topic/15270579123?page=2#21

Grimiku: If there was one thing you could change about the Demon Hunter, what would it be?

DiEoxidE#1987: Nothing, nothing at all.

Grimiku: What’s the next (or most interesting) item you’re currently after, and why are you after it?

DiEoxidE#1987: It would most likely the Focus and Restraint rings. Fits my playstyle

Grimiku: If you could make a set to support one skill, what would it support and how?

DiEoxidE#1987: The Health Potion Set! (Set name TBD)

2pc: Drop rate of health potions increased by 40%!

4pc: Allows player to throw health potions at mobs that heal enemies or allies upon contact. Health potions also has a 55% chance to break instead on contact, impaling the target's hit from the broken glass for 3.14159265358979323846264....% weapon damage. Damage scales with Health Potion bonuses from gear!

6pc: Transform yourself into a Health Potion. The sheer site of you makes mobs avoid you like the plague, granting the user 100% invulnerability to aggro!

Though I'm not a fan of the focus power being placed in 6pc set bonuses (and I'm just poking fun above, please don't delete lol), in all seriousness I'd like to see some love for spike traps. Not sure what or how, I just think it definitely needs some attention, especially how the game is currently played. It's such a fun skill

Grimiku: Pick a Demon Hunter quote!

DiEoxidE#1987: "Bleed, you filth!"

Grimiku: Name one piece of advice that you think every Demon Hunter should know.

DiEoxidE#1987: Be true to yourself when wielding those bows/crossbows, even if it means going against the norm. Having fun should be the primary goal. D3 is not an esport.

[WHO'S NEXT?]

Grimiku: Which Demon Hunter should we interview next?

DiEoxidE#1987: Merlin#1312

Grimiku: Pick a question to ask in the next interview!

DiEoxidE#1987: What is your favorite boss fight and why?

Grimiku: OmegaRed#1437 asks: Do you think the Demon Hunter has already reached its full potential or is it still to come?

DiEoxidE#1987: Well honestly, each class is hard-capped by gear and unavoidable damage. Whomever has been able to bribe RNG with some milk and cookies will be the ones to go further with a particular class :P

Also @Grimiku, thanks for keeping it as is, especially my health potion set :D. There was however, a semi-colon added in there and you better believe I'll be contacting the higher ups about this atrocity good sir :P

Oh jeepers... I better find your email and ensure accuracy.

P.S. I'm glad you decided to participate, and took the time to answer these questions. I always enjoy these interviews, but it's not always with someone who had the level of community presence that you did. So, thanks!
