| After I updated to 2.2, I can't play my old character any more. I was in Act V and whenever I try to start the game, it plays the Act V cutscene, after which the game runs fine for about half a second before the screen completely freezes. I think the game might still respond to input because sound keeps going and sometimes it sounds like I can open a menu or something, but the picture is completely static. I rolled up a new character to see if something was completely broken, but it ran perfectly smoothly. My only thought at this point is that there's some sort of issue with pre-patch characters for some reason. Am I alone in this and, if not, has there been a fix? | ||

| witchfynder, With the game closed, go into your Documents\Diablo III folder and delete the D3Prefs.txt file. | witchfynder, Open the Battle.net app and select Diablo III from the left side of the screen. Once that is done, click on the "options" cog wheel, and select "scan and repair". Let that process finish, and then test out the game again.
