| According to the post there aren't plans to have them added to the Americas region yet, thankfully. Edit: A similar post has also been made in the Europe region, so they aren't getting the microtransactions either. Kind of narrows down which region is being targeted with these. In the meantime, some new features may start to show up in data mined information for patch 2.2.0 that will not apply to all regions. Specifically, the following features will not apply to the Americas:
While the above features will not apply to this region, players will still benefit from some of the quality of life perks tied to these additions, such as a [url="http://us.battle.net/d3/en/blog/17989719/first-look-patch-220-2-19-2015#quality"]streamlined UI[/url] for selecting cosmetic benefits like pets and Collector's Edition wings. We recognize that many players have expressed an interest in microtransactions being added to Diablo III. While we may explore this model in some regions, we have no immediate plans to implement such purchases anytime soon for the Americas region. Sounds like Blizzard is planning to monetize Stash Space, Char slots, Cosmetics, and Exp boosts. While I'm not the biggest fan of this plan, I recoginze it's also not the worst it could have been. Extremely saddened to see stash space and exp boosts on this list as those directly affect gameplay. Kind of sad to see character slots while cosmetics I'm begrudgingly ok with. Guess I owe schwegs an apology as he was right, microtransactions are an inevitability in D3. | ||
