| Bought a laptop yesterday. Supposed to be one of the lower end gaming laptops from Lenovo. Checked to make sure all drivers were up to date (they were) then installed Battle.net desktop app. Installed Diablo 3 via desktop app. When running Diablo 3, the screen flashes black and grey, sometimes the sound plays, then I get an error that says that 3D failed to start. Then I got an error that I need a videocard that supports OpenGL. Ran a DirectX Diagnostic and will post results shortly. Ideas on how to fix this? | ||

| hardluck57, Can you post some information about your computer? You can find this information in the Direct X Diagnostic Tool: Click on Start Click on Run Type in: dxdiag (In Vista, type dxdiag in the search field) Hit Enter or OK Click on the Save All Information button at the bottom, and create a dxdiag text file, and copy and paste it ALL here. _________________________________________________________ I'm available in the forums Tuesday - Friday, 11 am - 8 pm Pacific Time Saturday 10 am - 7 pm Pacific Time Feedback? - https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/Omrakos | ||

| hardluck57, Looks like what you're encountering is a TDR (Timeout detection and Recovery) condition which basically means the video driver went to a state where the game could no longer address it. This can happen for a variety of reasons and there are several things you can do to try to stop it, though there isn't a single cause or solution really. This post over on Nvidia's forum provides a good description of the problem and what can cause/fix it. It doesn't matter that you're not using an Nvidia card as the issue happens to all video card manufacturers. https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/389688/geforce-drivers/nvidia-statement-on-tdr-errors-display-driver-nvlddmkm-stopped-/ _________________________________________________________ I'm available in the forums Tuesday - Friday, 11 am - 8 pm Pacific Time Saturday 10 am - 7 pm Pacific Time Feedback? - https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/Omrakos | ||
