| Hi, just re installed D3 - was informed the service was unavailable - is the server down or is it just on my end. Cheers.

It is down for scheduled maintenance. It's up again at approx. 09:00 CEST. You are notified of this in the Breaking News section in the Diablo 3 start screen and also in the Battle.net launcher.

What happened to the "server shutting down in X minutes" warning?
As already pointed out, it was server maintenance last night. We always post about the maintenance on Twitter, Battle.net App, in-game news and Battle.net Support Site. Usually we put the information on Monday, so make sure to check on Monday/Tuesday to make sure you don't miss the maintenance schedule. :)
