| Ever since 2.1 dropped, I've been occasionally getting screen freezes. Sometimes the freezes don't recover. this results in the sound resembling a buzzsaw and an inability to alt-tab or alt-F4 out of D3. I end up having to completely turn my computer off to restart, as any other option isn't available to me. The most recent video driver available for my Radeon HD 6870 is one that was released on April 29th. The only other driver available is a beta. Not sure that's something I want to get myself into. Suggestions? | ||

| Could you both please post your dxdiag info? | Theyas, I don't really have any solutions for the screen freezing yet. As I told another user, we've not been able to reproduce it in-house. | Theyas, I'd asked for your D3Debug.txt file, not your dxdiag. The D3 file may show us what was going on at the time your screen froze. | Theyas, Unfortunately, nothing is being detected in-game as far as there being any problems. The log just stopping like that shows everything just stopped, which could be due to many things, but I'd guess it's hardware-related which would include device drivers. Let's try updating your sound drivers as they're pretty old and are the ones provided by Microsoft and not the device manufacturer.
