I have the exact same problem
All other games run perfect (Elder Scrolls Online, League of Legends, SMITE, Heroes of the Storm, Borderlands 2, Lord of the Rings Online etc...). Only Diablo 3 will crash for me with the stop code: 0xa0000..1. I have an Intel i7 with a Ati Radeon HD 7800. I've tried rerolling drivers, currently using 14.7 beta drivers hoping it would solve issues. I haven't tested it yet but considering you have tested them and crashed with them I wont get my hopes up too high.
I'm not sure if you've mentioned this as well but usually I can see the BSOD'S coming, my screen will lock up pitch-black for 3-4 seconds and then restore itself. Usually when that starts happening the BSOD will be inbound in +/- 30minutes.
Hope we can get a fix for this soon, I doubt its hardware related.

| So I've experiencing BSOD issues with the relatively new PC I bought (december 2013) that only started to show itself when I started playing Diablo 3 again with the launch of RoS. These issues only occur when playing diablo 3 and never with other games Blizzard or any other gaming company for that matter. Games I play are: Guild Wars 2, WoW, Hearthstone, Skyrim and ofcourse Diablo 3. What basically happens is my game freezes and I hear an annoying buzzing sound then my system autoreboots. When viewing the dmp files with BlueScreenViewer the program points toward atikmdag.sys, a driver related issue. I've ruled out any hardware issues as I've done stuff like 3dmark benchmark tests, memtest and bad sector scan. The system performed admirably for all those tests, no flags, errors anything. Also the fact that I've never gotten a BSOD anywhere else but in Diablo 3 must mean it has to be a Driver/Diablo 3/Ati/OS compatibility issue or something of the sorts. I'm using an Ati R9270x graphics card and have tried drivers 13.12 to the current Beta Driver 14.7 listed on the website. Each time I tried a different driver I properly cleaned and uninstalled using DDU. Other stuff I've tried: - Uninstalling Catalyst Control Centre and going Drivers only - Re-installing the game - Using expand.exe to extract the atikmdag.sys file from ati's atikmdag.sy_ file using cmd prompt and then using that file in place of the system32 file. - Letting the guys who built my pc at the PC shop take a look at it, they could not find anything hardware or software related other than the driver the BSOD points to. - Closing the Blizzard launcher so it doesn't run in the background while playing - Disabling the Audio driver from ATI and using the stock one. The BSOD's are super random. Sometimes I go 2-3 days without seeing one and then I get 2-3 PER day. I noticed after testing each driver for at least a week that some drivers cause the BSOD's to be more frequent, e.g. 14.4 and the new beta driver. While 13.12 took alot along to give me BSOD's. Has anyone else experienced this issues with my particular card or any other ati card in particular and gotten the atikdmag.sys bsod? Any solutions I might have missed? Maybe some really lame trick I might have missed? It's starting to get extremely annoying and every day I feel more like quitting the game as I've been near the end of a grift many times when getting my BSOD. Another thing to add. I also suffer from occasional black screen fade in and fade out's similar to other threads in this section of the forum. They are relatively short. I'm not sure if those issues are related. I've also experienced FPS drops and very short stuttering/freezing occasionally like when a rift guardian spawns. Also not sure it is related. Right now the only option I see is replacing my gpu with an nvidia card which I don't wanna do at all since my card is really good and gives me great FPS in any other game, runs super smooth, problem free and is probably the best GPU i've ever owned. Also I don't like Nvidia much. I will again stress this is NOT an hardware issue 100% confirmed by testing performed by me and the shop I bought the PC at. The PSU is fine and could take more (currently not OC'd any parts), the motherboard is not broken, the pins for the memory slots are not broken. The CPU is not broken, the RAM itself is not broken and the GPU is not broken. The hard disk is also not broken. I want to finally get this solved so that I can play this game as smooth as I can any other game. Another thing to add: The pc is also not filled with dust as it is vacuum cleaned regularly also the parts are not loose and are all tight in their slots. All the cables are also attached tightly. The PC has been taken apart and put together many times and nothing changed. Please have a solution for me.
I'm sure its not hardware related since I tested for all possible hardware malfunctions.. Despite that though the fact that it only occurs in 1 game automatically assures it can not be hardware. I simply did the tests cuz the people at the hardware shop advised me to. It is 100% a driver related issue. It's hard to pin down if it's blizzard's fault or ati's fault. Many people have bsod's and other errors with diablo but many people also play problem free. I'm more inclined to believed the problem lies with ati and their history of unstable drivers.. there are other games other people play that often cause issues with atikmdag.sys like watch dogs and battlefield. For those cases its usually always just that game too. It has to be some kind of compatibility issue between the driver and the game. I'm just looking for a temporary fix so I can at least play BSOD free.
Forgot to add something to my main post: Yes, I have also checked for temperatures and they don't even come close to overheating. I can easily run skyrim, GW2, diablo and wow all at the same time and I hardly notice I have alot of stuff on at the same time.
A response would be nice Blue's..
same issue here...bluescreens randomly over the day...ati radeon 7850 hd...please help...
i cant play any rifts because of that...i think its only happening while rifting
Verificus,
Have you swapped out the card yet and received the same BSOD with another one? The black screens are suggesting a possible TDR situation which can often be remedied by tweaking the GPU clocks down a little bit. I'd first try swapping out the card though, with the same model if possible. _________________________________________________________ I'm available in the forums Tuesday - Friday, 11 am - 8 pm Pacific Time Saturday 10 am - 7 pm Pacific Time Feedback? - https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/Omrakos

its not only about the blackscreens ...bluescreens are much more annoying...as is said for me they occur mostly in rifts...
i checked everything...drivers...hardware...i cleaned my pc.. the bluescreens occur when i play it on ssd AND on hdd, it doesnt matter...cant be my hardware. Must be a driver ati problem or d3 itself...(even tried repair tool )
same problem long time ago still getting it very annoying! Only difference is that I don't get any message related to this crash my hardware is good too no problems.
Hi Nethalas Unfortunately, you won't find a solution from a blue, unless they find what causes the error in the code. I opened the same issue about 5 months ago and got also a blue reply blaming my hardware, software, driver... basically everything there is to blame. In fact it is our hardware, but since it is only d3 that causes this crash its more on blizzards side, imo. Still got these crashes about every third day. Usually stop playing for the day when it happens. Since blizz wont (or can't) fix it, your only hope is to buy a new card. Sorry and I hope you have the spare money, because I don't.
