| Iera, While you can change the language pack to Chinese, you'll still be using English character names. I don't know anyway to do what you're suggesting. It's likely not possible by design as our tools wouldn't be able to work with the foreign character sets. _________________________________________________________ I'm available in the forums Tuesday - Friday, 11 am - 8 pm Pacific Time Saturday 10 am - 7 pm Pacific Time Feedback? - https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/Omrakos | ||

| Iera , I couldn't find any. I installed the Chinese language pack on my system here at work and my existing characters were all in English, though I don't have any free slots so I wasn't able to create one. I don't recall ever seeing a character name ever displayed in an alternate character set though. Can you link me a profile to someone having such a name? _________________________________________________________ I'm available in the forums Tuesday - Friday, 11 am - 8 pm Pacific Time Saturday 10 am - 7 pm Pacific Time Feedback? - https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/Omrakos | ||

| Iera, Ok, I got it to work. Do you plan to keep using English in the game and just want to have a Chinese character name or did you want Chinese for everything? Either way, it looks like Diablo III isn't going to let you enter Chinese letters if you're in another locale (guessing here). What I did though was copy and paste the name I wanted to use into the Character Creation screen, after first setting the game to use Chinese (it downloads the language files it needs, about 5 gigs worth). Setting it back to US English, I still have the character made with Chinese lettering. If your problem is just that you can't select from the various languages, its a bug we're having right now. I can give you an alternative way to select it if that's what you need, let me know. _________________________________________________________ I'm available in the forums Tuesday - Friday, 11 am - 8 pm Pacific Time Saturday 10 am - 7 pm Pacific Time Feedback? - https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/Omrakos | ||

| Iera, These are the steps I took. They're sort of involved but I'll try to list them from memory. First, we need to get the game to use Chinese which normally is easy as you just need to select it from a dropdown of several choices. But, there's a bug right now in the Desktop App that causes the dropdown choices to not be there. Workaround: Open your Diablo III game folder and right click on the Diablo III file. Select "Send to" and then use "Desktop (create shortcut). This will place a shortcut to the game executable on your desktop. Find that shortcut icon and right click on it. Select "Properties", and find the "Target" line. After the last " symbol on the line, add a space and -launch The result should look something like "C:\Users\user name\Desktop\Diablo III\Diablo III.exe" -launch Now when you start the game from this shortcut, it will bypass the Desktop App's launcher, which you should keep open by the way. Once the game is started, go to the in-game menu's options and select Account, then check to see if the language dropdowns show up. Select Chinese there. It's going to download the language for you in the Desktop App which will probably bring up a new login prompt which you can close as it's already open from a prior step. Once this is all done, the next time you start the game from the desktop shortcut we made, it will be all in Chinese, but character names will still be entered in English. This is where we need to cut and paste in the Chinese letters you want which will have to have been done in advance and placed where you can get to them like a text file. Once you have the characters named as you like, you can go back and select English again (4th choice down) and when it's all done, you'll be running everything in English but have Chinese lettered character names. _________________________________________________________ I'm available in the forums Tuesday - Friday, 11 am - 8 pm Pacific Time Saturday 10 am - 7 pm Pacific Time Feedback? - https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/Omrakos | ||
