Freezing up entire computer(1)Category: Technical SupportJune-23-2014 3:31 PM PDT (8 years ago) Go to Blizzard forum post
My computer freezes up and I can't alt tab/start ctrl manager or anything. I have to hold the power button to turn my computer off and back on. It happens at random intervals, sometimes I can play for an hour, others I can play for 10 minutes before it happens.

This doesn't happen when I'm playing other games/random internet browsing. I'm not 100% sure this is just a Diablo III issue, but I figured I would ask to see if it's happening to anybody else. Is there any type of crash log I can look into for D3 or Windows 7? Here is some basic info from DxDiag:

musclenflow,

Let's try a different video driver to see if that helps.

Here's a link to the How-To Uninstall AMD Catalyst Drivers From A Windows Based System guide download.

Once uninstalled, download and install the driver linked below.

Here's a link for the new driver download: AMD Video Driver

musclenflow,

I came across a similar issue the other day with a customer in the WoW forums. They were also using an AMD card.

Here's a link to their solution:

Black screen, Frozen computer forcing restart

Try that out and let me know what happens.
