| Problem: When running the game in lower resolution than native resolution of my laptop, the game will randomly freeze, often leading to computer crash. Description: Screen freeze or black out, combined with a constant 'buzzing' noise. 2/3 of the time, my laptop will become completely unresponsive to any command including ctrl+alt+del. 1/3 of the time, the game will return to normal after 5-10 seconds. When this happens, I noticed that all other applications had their window size RESIZED to the game resolution. For example, when playing at 1280 x 720 resolution (native resolution of my laptop: 1920 x 1080) I have a game freeze. After recovery from game freeze, I alt+tab and find that my chrome internet browser and microsoft excel has been resized to 1280 x 720 window, instead of occupying full screen. Frequency: I have encountered this phenomenon more than 50 times ever since installing ROS. This is a huge problem for me since I enjoy playing hardcore mode. Dying to computer crash feels horrible :( I am looking for a solution. I have uninstalled -> reinstalled D3, installed the latest Nvidea driver but this did not solve the problem. And I believe this is not a throttling issue, as this also occurs at 800 x 600 resolution. The reason I play at lower resolution with a frame cap is because I do not like the fan noise - my laptop can barely manage 1920 x 1080 at lowest setting. CPU: Intel i5-2410M dual core GPU: Nvidea GT 525M 1Gb RAM: 8 Gb Any help or suggestions will be appreciated. Thank you. | ||

| mintCookie, 1. Let's update the Intel video driver. Here's a link where that can be found: Intel Driver 2. Let's also try a different video driver for the Nvidia card to see if that helps. Uninstall the current driver by using a program called Driver Fusion. This program will ensure that all previous driver files are completely removed. Here's a link to the Driver Fusion download. Once there, click on the "Download From Treexy" button to download the free trial. ***Don't download the Premium version.*** 1. Run Driver Fusion. 2. Click on "Display" and select "Nvidia". 3. Click on "Delete". 4. You will be asked if you are sure if you want to delete the entries, click on "Yes". 5. Driver Fusion will do its job, but you may see a message saying that some entries could not be deleted, and it will then ask if you would like to take a look at premium benefits, click on "No". 6. Restart when asked do so. 7. Repeat the same steps for "PhysX" instead of "Display". Once those two are completely removed, go ahead and install the suggested driver. Here's a link for the new driver download: Nvidia Driver When you are going to install the driver I would like for you to select Custom Install > Graphic Driver only. ______________________________________________________ I'm available Sunday through Thursday from 11AM to 8PM Pacific Time Support Contact Information Got some feedback? | ||
