Hey, I know this issue isn't really related to diablo, but I'm not sure where to ask.

I've been using this program called 3d Traceroute, which sends a traceroute every few seconds and tells you what your latency is at each hop. My ISP is Comcast, and I have been running the trace to the diablo 3 servers (12.129.209.68).

The issue is that I keep getting latency spikes/dropped packets at the 2nd hop, which happens to be my modem. Out of 438 traces 19 were had problems at the 2nd hop, with 13 of those being high latency (maxing at 3427 ms), and the 6 others being dropped.

Originally I thought the problem was with my modem, and therefore I went and replaced it with a newer model, although it appears to have been refurbished/used.

So am I having the exact same problem with a new modem, or could this latency problem be with the wires that are going into my house, and that is why I am seeing latency spikes on the 2nd hop?

I'm not really sure what I should do, or what I could tell comcast. The issue is pretty hard to notice, the only time I am noticing it is when I stream and I get randomly dropped frames, despite everything else being okay.

Let's try running a pathping of your connection to see what that shows us. For the most accurate results, try running the pathping when the connection issue that you are experiencing is at its worst.

Here's a support article that will help with that: Running A Pathping Test

Once you have the pathping, go ahead and post it into your next reply.

***The pathping report is two parts. Once you get to where it says, "Computing statistics for X amount of seconds, you will want to wait about 10 minutes before the second part of the report is complete.***
