D3 Crashing To Desktop(1)Category: Technical SupportJune-5-2014 6:07 PM PDT (9 years ago) Go to Blizzard forum post
Hey,

Recently (in the past week), my computer has been crashing while playing d3. This has never occurred before. I haven't been able to pinpoint the crash to any specific action I'm doing in the game, and the crashes come at random intervals (sometimes it will crash twice in 10 minutes, sometimes it won't crash for hours). Also, sometimes instead of crashing to my desktop, I receive a completely lime-green screen, forcing me to manually restart my computer.

The error code I'm getting is:
C43D410C-300F-458E-B937-505622DFC1D8

Please advise.

JT1,

It's a crash our developers are already investigating.

As it appears to be somewhat video-related, could I get you to post your dxdiag info so I can see your hardware and device drivers? Perhaps something will stand out.

You can find this information in the Direct X Diagnostic Tool:

Click on Start
Click on Run
Type in: dxdiag (In Vista, type dxdiag in the search field)
Hit Enter or OK

Click on the Save All Information button at the bottom, and create a dxdiag text file, and copy and paste it ALL here.

Also, do you recall if there was a loading screen being displayed when it crashes?

JT1,,

Would it be correct to say your crashing began after installing the latest Nvidia 337.88 video drivers?

JT1,

Posted by: JT1

My screen went black and the fans in my computer started spinning very fast, thus I had to force restart my pc.

This is a symptom of the video card or gpu overheating. We should see what temps they're reaching at idle and under load just to be able to rule that out.

Download and run HWMonitor from: http://www.cpuid.com/downloads/hwmonitor/1.24-setup.exe

Now start the game and let it run several minutes. Then exit or alt-tab out and see what the highest temperature is that was reached for both the cpu and gpu.

You don't need to copy/paste the report or anything, just read the values from the utility's display. It will list the min, avg, and max values.

JT1,

Those temps are fine but you didn't specify what device they were for? I need to know how hot both the cpu and gpu are getting.

If you're running any sort of overlay app like your OC guru while playing, I'd suggest not doing that right now. Such apps ideally should be uninstalled as they can interfere in various ways with our games.

JT1,

All of your temps are ok then, nothing appears to be overheating.

You can try rebooting in selective startup mode to see if a background app that autostarts might be interfering.

Beyond that, there's not much I can suggest. Like I said, it's a crash under investigation b y our programmers and developer/engineers. We'll need to wait until they've addressed it most likely.
