D3 Not playable anymore...(1)Category: Technical SupportMay-31-2014 6:04 PM PDT (9 years ago) Go to Blizzard forum post
Ok,

So at first I thought it was my internet (and it still might be) but I can play Path of Exile, Dota 2 and Hearthstone without any issue (although I did have some slight lag in Hearthstone a little while ago).

I have been able to play D3 after a long break and I have been playing without any major issues for the past month or so (there was an issue where one of my anti-virus programs was causing a lot of lag but I uninstalled it and everything was fine).

However, for the past 5 or so days, I have not been able to play D3, I lose my wi-fi connection ONLY when I am connecting to D3 or I am playing it - there is no other time where I lose it. When I do finally get into D3, I experience massive lag e.g.

1. I load into the game, teleport to a town or whatnot and nothing happens for a good 30secs, then I finally get ported and only the land around me plus another half again is loaded - I walk and then I bump into a 'blank' screen where the rest of the map hasn't been loaded.

2. Sometimes the map loads but then I don't

I was able to play normally for a good 5 minutes yesterday (or the day before) and then it started lagging/not loading stuff/not porting me etc.

I have closed all non-essential programs, this doesn't happen with any other game and it's just really frustrating, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Christos,

Are you able to run a wired connection instead of wireless for troubleshooting purposes?

Christos,

Nothing on our end, but your wireless signal strength can be influenced by several factors, such as distance between your computer and the device it's connecting to, obstructions like walls and floors, some electronic devices like microwaves or cell phone base stations, other wireless networks using the same or nearby channels, etc... You might try relocating your wireless device or computer to try improving the signal strength.
