What type of player are you?(1)Category: HardcoreJune-2-2014 10:24 AM PDT (10 years ago) Go to Blizzard forum post
I was playing with a good friend this weekend (who shall remain nameless) and he has a problem with popping shrines before the person with nemesis bracers can click it. I told him I was going to make a thread about him specifically, but then thought about all the different types I've encountered since I started playing and figured I'd comply a list of all the types I've noticed so far.

1. The pre-mature shrine popper - The person in the group that is always clicking on a shrine before the person can switch their bracers out, and their typical response is, "my bad" or "Im sorry".

2. The Elitist - This is the guy that feels he is leaps and bounds better than anyone in the group, and that everyone should feel fortunate that he is even playing in their group.

3. The question asker - this is the guy that is always asking all kind of questions about gear, builds, "what do ya think" kind of things.

4 The Leech - The guy that provides no DPS or support, he simply runs behind and scoops up the loot and leechs exp. (usually undergeared and or leveled for the content)

5. The town squatter - The player that is in town over 50% of the run, He is usually selling, crafting, comparing items, writing an auto-biography I dunno, but he's in town the whole run.

6. The afker - the player that goes afk and says "brb in a min"... 20 mins later they are still in game and no where to be seen.

7. The speedster - this is the guy that is running through content as quickly as possible... He is usually 20 yards ahead of the party, he cares not for chests, shrines, fountains, trash mobs, or any thing else other than elite packs. He pretty much runs until he sees an elite and only stops long enough to kill the pack leader or all the champions.

8. The slo-poke - this is the guy that explores every inch of every map, and clicks on everything, and destroys every jar, He picks up every item, and returns to town to sell/salvage everything. He does so at his own pace, and it is usually a very slow one.

9. The know it all/guru - This is the guy that is always telling people what to run as far as skills, equipment, and where to go on the map. Usually his advice is unsolicated and still given regardless.

10. The chatter - This is the guy that is more concerned with chatting in the text chat to the forums, channels, and other party members than he is in actually playing. This type of play is acceptable in the lobby, but not in game during a run. (which they usually are)

11. The lone wolf - this is the solo player that never groups or parties with anyone else. They prefer solo play and wish D3 had an offline mode.

12. The Free-lancer - this is the player that pretty much goes their own way. When 3 people in a party decide to go left on the map, he decides he's gonna go right.

13. The Griefer - He gets his jollies tolling other players, whether it be in game by luring numerous monsters and beasts to a WP or starting portal, or just by simply trolling them via chat. They get pleasure in others misery.

14. The Rager - Rages about in game mechanics, drop rates, buff/nerf rates, imbalances and pretty much any and all things they don't like/agree with. (courtesy Veepow)

15. The Ditcher - this guy is fine and dandy in a run until another more desired game opens up, and then *poof* they are gone in a heart beat,(coutesy Learnedhand)

16. The Captain/white knight - This person is the "captain save em" or a white knight that is there in your hour of need during a d/c. They keep you alive, and make sure you don't die. (courtesy Bryan)

17. The premature rift closer - This person closes the rift when others are still in the rift farming, or before others have a chance to switch to a toon they're leveling. They sometimes do this by mistake by talking to Oreck instead of Kadala when trying to gamble shards. (courtesy ScaryGary)

18. The Ringer/Carry - The player that is overly gear for the content they are currently in. All people in the group follow this person due to the fact of his killing speed. Usually their helping friends get geared up. (courtesy Jim)

19. The could careless - this is the apathetic player that is devoid of any emotion including joy or sorrow. He could careless what happens to him or anyone else in his group. If your prized WD should die while playing with such a player, his only response will be, "Witch Doctors die every day". (Courtesy KK)

20 The A$$HAT/Contrarian - This person is miserable to run with and complains about everything. No matter what drops for them they whine about your loot...no matter which way you want to go they need to go the other way. They often chat more than they kill stuff. (courtesy marmo)

I'm sure there are more you guys can think of, maybe one or more of these types are you, maybe your not listed. Feel free to add any others you've encountered.

Anyone surprised if a CM falls into this category? Cause this is totally me unless I'm playing solo, and then I'm a slo-poke #8.
