| Whenever I pass this very specific location at the beginning of Desolate Sands, (an invisible line, really) the game instantly crashes. I have a Sony Vaio SVE14A27CXH with AMD Radeon HD 7600M Series graphics. I have done everything I have been able to think of and find in order to fix it. I have updated my graphics card to ensure that it was indeed updated. I have tried the scan and repair option (which didn't seem to think anything was wrong) and a full uninstall and reinstall to no avail. I am out of ideas. Any help and suggestions will be greatly appreciated! | ||

| Aihle, We see this issue when newer AMD, usually beta, video drivers are in use. | Aihle, I would expect Sony to have a version of the Catalyst Control Center, which is related to the driver version, modified by them for your hardware. You may want to try following AMD's instructions for uninstalling the drivers and then try reinstalling what Sony has. | Aihle, From what I can see now, you have Sony's drivers from 2012 installed which can't be from the Catalyst 14.4 suite. When uninstalling via the instructional link I posted, did you notice if it finished without errors? | Aihle, There's not much more I can suggest really. From my experience with reports of this symptom, it's all related to the AMD drivers being used. You don't seem to have a lot of choice in what you can use though. Since you were able to get the 14.4 CCC installed at some point, I'd try using drivers again from AMD I suppose. Ideally, you'd be able to locate and install a slightly older release from them like 13.1 or 13.12. They don't make that easy to do on their site though for laptops.
