For 4 days now I have been attempting to play Diablo 3 for the single player campaign

For 4 days I can log in, select a character and click the Resume/join game button

For 4 days it goes to the loading screen, the gems move, after about 2-4 mins the music begins to play and the loading screen continues to show the gems shifting away at their shades of red.

Cant open a ticket because it doesnt throw back any error codes, even after leaving it to sit at the loading screen for hours.

Twice it actually loaded into the game, everything appeared to be fine but the in game triggers(zombies at the gates in the first act) do not respond and leaves me to run around unable to do anything but look at the pretty colors.

Is there ANYTHING that can be done about this? Any new patches upcoming to deal with this issue? and if so what can be done or when are these patches expected to be applied.

If any further information is required I would be MORE then happy get get it posted.

Mogable,

Could you please try these two support articles and see if the problem is resolved? They'll delete cached data and your Agent files, forcing a new copy of the latest to be acquired.

Deleting Battle.net files

Your earlier description wasn't clear when it came to what you actually did. The steps I asked you to go through do more than just delete cache data. I wanted to be sure you actually did the steps necessary to force a new copy of the Agent files to be acquired.

You've connected to the EU once before but never played there. Can you try that again and see if you experience the same problem? You change the region on the Desktop App just above the Blue Play button. I suspect it will do the same.

Do you use an antivirus app? I know you say you rebooted in selective startup mode but sometimes, and AV app will continue to offer protection and cause issues even then. Uninstalling it would be the best option if you know for sure you'll be able to reinstall it again later.

Ok, what I'd like you to try is this: Open up the Task manager and place it on your second screen. Have it displaying the Performance Tab so you can view the CPU Usage.

Then, go ahead and start the game normally. Watch the CPU Usage to see what it peaks at during the process. Make a note of where it is also before you start the game. Mine for example, even with a host of apps running in the background and a bunch of browser tabs open sits at 0% when idling. Let's see if your differs.

Thanks, it doesn't seem to be an issue with the cpu being loaded down then as your numbers pretty much mirror mine.

Have you run a malware scan lately? I'd recommend Malwarebytes if not. You can use their free trial version without the need of buying the full release for our purposes.

If that doesn't show us any problems, I'd like to see your msinfo data next.

Please start a new thread if you're still running into black screens when going through loading screens. This one is fairly old as the post prior to yours was almost 2 months ago.

If you start a new thread, please be sure to include as much information as you can on what happens during the issue. What troubleshooting steps you have tried and your DXDiag
