All of a sudden LOW FPS.(1)Category: Technical SupportApril-18-2014 1:44 PM PDT (9 years ago) Go to Blizzard forum post
Hello there everyone.
I'm making another topic complaining and asking for help due to the sudden low fps.
This game used to be playable in any settings and today it's just unplayable.Fps vary from 5-25 max while also 5 sec loading time went into 30 sec +.

I tried changing d3prefs-deleting,drivers,changing game location, downloading again, download msi and overclocking nothing.

I noticed that my cpu/gpu temperature got lowered a lot for a exaple from cpu 68-72C and gpu 65-70
it went to cpu 55-63 and gpu 55-65.

PC Specs.

Windows 7 64 bit.
i7 2670QM 2.2GHZ
nVidia GT555M 3GB
8GB RAM
2x500 GB

So any other solution would be really pleasant to my eyes ,thank for your time.

Death,

Can you post some information about your computer? You can find this information in the Direct X Diagnostic Tool:

Click on Start
Click on Run
Type in: dxdiag (In Vista, type dxdiag in the search field)
Hit Enter or OK

Click on the Save All Information button at the bottom, and create a dxdiag text file, and copy and paste it ALL here.

Could you also post your D3Debug.txt file? It's located in the Main Diablo III game folder.

Death,

I was mainly wanting to verify the game was using the Nvidia component, which it is, so don't worry about what the dxdiag is showing.

I don't really see anything I could point to to explain a loss if performance suddenly.

The changes I'd suggest would probably cause even more of a drop but the game might run smoother and look better.

I'd change the resolution to match your desktop of 1920 x 1080, enable vertical sync, and reset the desktop display size to the default of 100% instead of the 125% you have it at now.

Other than that, I'd recommend rebooting the computer in selective startup mode once and seeing if the performance is still poor. This will prevent other apps you have set to auto-run at startup from starting. Malware could be an issue here.
