| FPS slowly drops to Sub 10 over 5 minutes.(1) | Category: Technical SupportMarch-27-2014 7:15 PM PDT (9 years ago) ![]() | |
| My friends PC, which is the exact same as mine, same drivers, same hard drives gpu cpu and ram has a problem where he starts D3, joins a game and his FPS whether he's moving or not drops about 1 fps every 5 seconds. This will continue until he game is unplayable and sub 10fps. We did a complete reinstall of the game and even updated to the newest Beta Drivers for AMD (7970). Anyone else getting this issue? Change of Hard drive didn't make a difference, It drops in the menu also!! This is beyond my comprehension. I've tried everything I could think of. The Frames start dropping from the moment he starts the game until it hits 10 and stays there. We were watching them, CPU doesn't get throttled, GPU is at 99% ram usage is fine, gpu memory usage is fine. D3Prefs is set the same as mine other than resolution (his is lower). Temps are great, Sub 70 on GPU and Sub 60 on CPU (i7 920 recommendation at 68 top). He sent in a ticket with all this information a few minutes ago. Attempting to change hard drives now. GPU Temps - 58C CPU Temps - 60C (highest core) Specs -- i7 920 @ 3.4GHZ HD 7970 6GB DDR3 Ram Samsung spinpoint F3 1TB Windows 7 x64 Maybe it's not using his GPU... It seems may be the case. Attempting to fix. My Memory GPU is at 945 Dedicated while his is at ~15 and his GPU is only running at 14% compared to my 45% Attempted to force via Game Profile on CCC - No difference GPU still only using ~25-60 Dedicated and higher GPU usage due to anti aliasing we forced. His Motherboard doesn't even have an integrated GPU. It's just not utilizing this GPU properly it seems. FPS seems to stabilize at 8 and wont drop any further after ~30 minute of playing. It's literally like a count down as we laugh and read 60 - 59 - 58 - 57 - 56... - 14 - 13 - 12 - 11.. - 8 [Post edited two times, last edit by Twinnuke#1690 at March-28-2014 11:30 PM PDT (9 years ago)] | ||

| Twinnuke, You really haven't provided any information at all with which to attempt troubleshooting. I suppose you could start by checking the temperatures of his gpu and cpu while playing to see if they might be getting overheated. Download and run HWMonitor from: http://www.cpuid.com/downloads/hwmonitor/1.24-setup.exe Now start the game and let it run several minutes. Then exit or alt-tab out and see what the highest temperature is that was reached for both the cpu and gpu. _________________________________________________________ I'm available in the forums Monday - Friday, 12 pm - 8 pm Pacific Time Please provide feedback! - https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/Omrakos | ||
