Stuck on Connecting to Battle.net Server...(1)Category: Technical SupportMarch-25-2014 11:48 AM PDT (9 years ago) Go to Blizzard forum post
I'be been trying all day to play the new expansion and haven't been able to get past "Connecting to Battle.net Server..." It worked just fine yesterday and the Client is up to date. Are there any connectivity issues right now? I don't even get any timeout errors just says connecting and nothing ever happens

Belgarius,

Let's try power cycling the connection.

Here's a support article with steps on how to do that:

Resetting Network Devices

If that doesn't work try flushing the DNS.

Let me know what happens.

Wulfstan,

1. What security programs do you have installed?

2. Try this:

-Go into the Diablo 3 folder and delete the Updates folder.
-Delete the Battle.net Tools folder.

Check out this support article for steps on how to do that:

Deleting Battle.net Files

Once that is done, try running the launcher as admin by right clicking on the launcher and selecting "Run as admin".

Wulfstan,

Norton can sometimes interfere with games, specially when the game version has recently changed. If you are willing to try, I would temporarily uninstall Norton to see if that helps. If you want to try that, you will want to use the Norton Removal Tool to ensure that it's removed properly.

Here's the link where the Norton Removal Tool can be downloaded.

When you click on the link scroll down to Step 2, click on the orange download button and save the download to the desktop. Once saved go ahead and run the program, and follow the on screen steps.

Wulfstan,

1. Make sure that you are running on the most recent version of Flash.

Here's a link where that can be downloaded: http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/

***Uncheck the McAfee Security Scan option***

2. Make sure that your LAN settings and Internet Explorer settings are set correctly.

Here's a support article that will help:

Disabling Proxy Settings

3. Make sure that your Windows Secondary Logon service is enabled.

Here's a support article that will help with that:

Enabling Windows Secondary Logon Service
