Launcher message: "We will be performing maintenance beggining on Tuesday, February 25th at 1:00 AM PST and we expect the service to be available again at approximately 3:00 PM PST. During this time the game and many web services will be unavailable. Thank you for your patience." I hope that explains what's happening. More or less! I've provided additional details here.
