| All crafted items will now roll with stats appropriate to the character crafting them, using the loot 2.0 Smart Drop system. Please note that items designed to roll specific stats, such as the Archon Armor patterns, are exempt from this system. What does this mean? Does that mean I can use the level 62 chest craft with 6 guaranteed rolls and have just as likely of getting an upgrade as the level 63 Archon plans now? | ||

No, it has to do with the guaranteed main stat of those items. Meaning if you roll an INT Archon item on a Barbarian, it's going to roll INT instead of following the "Smart Drop" system. Smart Loot does not guarantee that an item will have your class' main stat. It does, however, remove the possibility of you receiving a stat your class does not use. As an example, a Wizard crafting a chest piece will never receive Strength or Dexterity on that item, but might get Intelligence or Vitality (along with other appropriate stats for the class). If the same Wizard was crafting Archon Gloves of Intelligence, however, the Smart Loot system is not employed because certain stats have already been prevented from rolling on that item. The Archon items were a sort of "pre Loot 2.0" way of narrowing rolls, making Smart Loot on top of that a little overkill.

Does this mean that my barb cannot farm items for my monk due to Smart loot? Not at all! Items only have a chance (albeit a fairly high one) to roll as Smart Loot. It's still possible to get off-class items while adventuring and looting. =)
