| Edit: Hello guild! Yes I know, I got a blue post on the D3 forums! You can stop telling me about it now I never made it to level 60 at release and right now I'm playing through Nightmare with my wife. Google fails me, so I have a few questions. Does changing difficulty just buff the monsters, or are they their own separate campaigns from the start? Like how I can't play Hell until I complete Nightmare, can't complete Nightmare until I complete Normal etc, are the new difficulties like that? Am I just going to be able to hit the hardest difficulty, beat the game once, then have to grind to 60? Basically, if I get to Act IV on an easy mode, will I then be able to ramp it up to hard and keep going through Act IV, or will I be reset to Act I? While Normal mode was waaaaay too easy the first time around, I kind of liked that it didn't feel like a grind to get to 60 and then onto Inferno mode. I'm kind of nervous about this dynamic level stuff, even if it does mean a more challenging path to maxing out a character. I take it that the Master mode unlocked at level 60 takes the place of Inferno and is exponentially harder than what comes before it as Inferno was to Hell? Does changing difficulty just buff the monsters, or are they their own separate campaigns from the start? Raising the difficulty will buff the monster's damage and hit points, and increase some of the rewards (like gold and experience) your character receives. However, monsters will be the same level as you no matter what difficulty you choose. I never made it to level 60 at release and right now I'm playing through Nightmare with my wife. If you pick up Reaper of Souls those characters will be at the beginning of Act V in campaign mode. If you don't pick up the expansion then you'll be able select any Campaign Mode quest in Acts I through IV since those characters already completed all of those quests on Normal difficulty. You'll also have access to all difficulty levels except for Torment I - VI, and that will open up once one of your characters reach level 60. | ||
