http://www.diablofans.com/news/47931-new-datamined-patch-class-changes-passive-effects So it looks like there's quite a few things going on in this new datamine. NephalemRiftWarning_PlayerNeedsKey - Five Rift Keystone Fragments are needed to conjure a Nephalem Rift. Rift Keys will now be Rift Fragments where 5 will unlock a Rift. I wonder how this is going to impact gameplay. LootRunClosesWarning - Nephalem Rift closes in: Nephalem Rifts are now timed? This change kind of sounds scary... WoDFlagBuff_name - Collectors Edition Buff A buff for those who buy the CE of Warlords of Draenor? I wasn't worried about that until I read this. WoDFlagBuff_desc - QUAD DAMAGE ? Anyway, it seems this is the fix to split farming. X1_PoolsOfreflection_2 - You now have a pool of bonus experience which will persist between games. Dying will remove this bonus. X1_PoolsOfreflection_2_title - Pools of Reflection Bonus - Every time you complete a Bounty you earn a Rift Keystone Fragment. Open your Inventory in order to see how many Rift Keystone Fragments you currently possess. X1_RiftKeystone_title - Rift Keystone Fragments X1_RiftKeystoneInventory - Use 5 Rift Keystone Fragments to open a Nephalem Rift at the Nephalem Obelisk in town. X1_RiftKeystoneInventory_title - Rift Keystone Fragments X1_RiftKeystoneComplete - You now have 5 Rift Keystone Fragments. You can go back to the Nephalem Obelisk in town and open a Nephalem Rift. X1_RiftKeystoneComplete_title - Rift Keystone Fragments It would appear as though you only get a Rift Fragment after you've maintained a Pools of Reflection bonus... I'm guessing this means you can't do rifts if you're prone to dying!? O.o Also, since there's no more keys, only fragments... it would appear as though split bounty farming is effectively dead. Anyway, what are other people's thoughts on this new information? ________________________________________________ US Diablo III MVP - Any information posted above is usually wrong and can be safely ignored. First things first: While datamined information can be a lot of fun to look at and speculate, it’s definitely best to keep those speculations in check (or at the very least grounded). Making assumptions based on datamining is exactly that -- making assumptions. I've been personally going over the datamining notes myself and seeing a lot of misinformation, so I'd like to clear up what I can. :) NephalemRiftWarning_PlayerNeedsKey - Five Rift Keystone Fragments are needed to conjure a Nephalem Rift. Rift Keystones no longer drop and Rift Keystone Fragments have taken their place. Please note that this means that any existing Rift Keystones you have in your inventory will no longer work once the next beta patch is live. While we know that sucks (and definitely we’re sorry for the inconvenience), this is a test environment and changes like this are part of what betas are all about. Back to details: Each bounty, except the first completed in a zone, will reward a Rift Keystone Fragment. The Horadric bag earned after your 5th bounty completed in an Act will reward 2 Rift Keystone Fragments (resulting in 6 Fragments per full bounty run if you're diligent). These changes were intended to combat situations where players would cherry pick faster bounties. It now takes 5 Fragments to open a Nephalem Rift. X1_PoolsOfreflection_2_title - Pools of Reflection Bonus - Every time you complete a Bounty you earn a Rift Keystone Fragment. Open your Inventory in order to see how many Rift Keystone Fragments you currently possess Pools of Reflection do not and will not provide any sort of buff for Bounties, Nephalem Rifts, or Keystones, even though there’s seemingly some associated strings the code that suggest it. In fact, Pools of Reflection have remained unchanged this beta patch (save for having their tooltip corrected). LootRunClosesWarning - Nephalem Rift closes in: As for the Nephalem Rift timer, this timer doesn't start until after the Rift quest has been completed. We were seeing situations in multiplayer games where players would start new Rifts before other players were done looting, resulting in folks getting kicked out before they could grab all their loot. This timer prevents this from happening, so there is now a short delay between when you finish a Rift and you can start a new one. It’s a safety net, not a method of limiting play. =) This is a great example of where reading a string completely out of context can cause wrong conclusions. WoDFlagBuff_name - Collectors Edition Buff WoDFlagBuff_desc - QUAD DAMAGE These are both fluff strings, and have already been removed from the game. They literally do nothing. Don’t panic! /provide towel Patch notes will accompany the next patch once it's live on the Beta and PTR. Some of this speculation is quite the jump on information that's not verified, so let's take a step back until you can really sink your teeth into the new changes, 'kay? ;) |

I have nearly 200 Rift Keystones currently in my inventory. Not being able to use these is not really a big issue for me, but the reason I have so many to begin with is because I find that Rifts are, for the most part, not as rewarding as I think they could be. Just discovered I was pleasantly incorrect about this detail. Current Rift Keystones have been converted to Rift Fragments. So you'll be able to use them; just remember it takes 5 Fragments now to open a Rift. The game is patched now. I already installed the update. Servers haven't gone live yet though. Indeed. We're working on that last part. Patch notes can be found here as well. ;) |
