It seems like you cannot enchant any primary rolls (strength, dexterity, intelligence) on legacy items to higher values. You used to be able to do this, but I just spent over 200 million gold on enchanting and I have yet to see ANY primary stats on any legendary item. I tried to reroll a Storm Crow, Zunimassa's Marrow, Depth Diggers, Lacuni Prowlers, Zunimassa's Trail. I recall that the limited choices the Mystic had originally was a display bug, that you can still reroll the primaries to stats outside what was listed. However, now you're only able to reroll into whatever is displayed. Is this an intended feature to reduce the attractiveness of using legacy items? ________________________________________________ Diablo III MVP | Forever a Wizard Archon Video Guide: http://us.battle.net/d3/en/forum/topic/9793089550 YouTube Channel: http://youtube.com/Jae7ch Twitter: @Jaetch |

Is this an intended feature to reduce the attractiveness of using legacy items? This isn't intended, and is an issue we're currently investigating. I recall that the limited choices the Mystic had originally was a display bug, that you can still reroll the primaries to stats outside what was listed. However, now you're only able to reroll into whatever is displayed. We believe it's related to this bug, but I don't have an ETA on a fix at the moment. It is being looked into, though! |

You are adorable but may I suggest that next time you do not post the additional information cause it makes the team look incompetent, which in turn will depress the masses. That puts me in a rather difficult place. The additional information is more often than not requested by the community as a whole, and I much prefer to provide as much information as I can than something that will most likely wind up requiring clarification later. I also don't think it's fair to infer that because an update didn't go as planned that it's a sign of incompetency. Just that, well, things don't always go as planned. ;P That's what this whole testing thing is about! Figured it out and reported it instantly, 2 days before your favourite green and been repeating it on various occasions. Do I get a cookie? j/k I don't normally frequent the Bug forums, as my focus is on feedback and our QA folks check those forums out directly (though there are exceptions at times). Since this topic kind of leaked over into my realm, I caught it here. :) Hence why the team already knew it was an issue and were working on having it addressed before I ever saw it. But you can have a cookie anyway. <3 |

As far as I know, legacy items cannot be enchanted to level 70 quality. The base stats, especially main stats, will be lower. Keep it that way. As for the fear of third party sales, bind the legacy legendaries as you would Loot 2.0 ones. Currently, items enchant values that are equivalent to the item's level. However, there's a major change coming in the next build, and this thread was the most appropriate to communicate it in given the topic at hand. In the next Beta patch, Legacy items (or items that drop prior to Patch 2.0.1) will no longer be able to be enchanted. This was a decision we ultimately made because certain Legacy items, when enchanted, became disproportionately strong compared to new items, which isn't the intent. However, there's an interesting "bug," if you'd like to call it, that will result from this change in the next Beta patch - all items gained up until the patch will no longer be able to be enchanted. This is an artifact of the fix implementation, and we felt it prudent to communicate this as soon as we could for those of you in the Beta. All items that drop in Patch 2.0.1 and forward will be able to be enchanted, so this shouldn't be an issue as we move into the live patch and onward to the expansion launch. *Edited in some additional clarification* [Post edited one time, last edit by Nevalistis at February-4-2014 8:13 PM PST (10 years ago)] |

By "Legacy items" you mean all items that dropped prior to patch 2.0+, correct? ALL items. I edited my original post to clarify: In the next Beta patch, Legacy items (or items that drop prior to Patch 2.0.1) will no longer be able to be enchanted. |

Just as a warning: I'm glad to see friendly discourse take place on this, and discussion and feedback regarding this decision is welcome. Trolling, CAPS LOCKS, and name calling will not be tolerated. |
