| D3 will not start, even after reinstall,game is running(1) | Category: Technical SupportJuly-17-2014 1:27 PM PDT (8 years ago) ![]() | |
| I have been playing ROS for quite some time, my computer had to be repaired and in the process they did a full reinstall of my computer. I have downloaded the latest AMD drivers and upon trying to run D3 I get following message: AMD radeon 6900 not supported. I never got this message before. Also D3 is telling me Im running windows xp service pack 3, but in fact I am running windows 7 servicepack 1, what gives? (not sure if that is releveant but thought Id mention it just in case). Anyways I go ahead and press "play anyaway" button, the ROS sign starts loading but then nothing happens. Battle.net is telling me the game is running, and I can see it if i press "ctrl+alt+delete", but I cant actually enter the game. Diablo3.exe is running, but there is no game actually running. What can I do? Everything has been a clean install after the repair guys formatted everything. I tried run as administrator, I tried compatible with windows xp and service pack 3, still nothing. The only thing that seperates my settings now and before the "repair" is I updated the drviers for my video card. Hopefully I dont have to revert to my old drivers which were from 2007 (and then it worked) Im running out of options, please help! | ||

| Avantor, I tried compatible with windows xp and service pack 3 Revert any compatibility changes you've added, none should ever be needed really. Then post your dxdiag info please. You can find this information in the Direct X Diagnostic Tool: Click on Start Click on Run Type in: dxdiag (In Vista, type dxdiag in the search field) Hit Enter or OK Click on the Save All Information button at the bottom, and create a dxdiag text file, and copy and paste it ALL here. Could you also post your D3Prefs.txt file? It's located in the My Documents\Diablo III folder. ________________________________________________________ I'm available in the forums Tuesday - Friday, 11 am - 8 pm Pacific Time Saturday 10 am - 7 pm Pacific Time Feedback? - https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/Omrakos | ||

| Avantor, Are you still getting the "not supported" message for your video card and the one stating you're on Windows XP SP3? _________________________________________________________ I'm available in the forums Tuesday - Friday, 11 am - 8 pm Pacific Time Saturday 10 am - 7 pm Pacific Time Feedback? - https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/Omrakos | ||

| Avantor, That shouldn't have been necessary unless you've been trying to run/install the game in a Virtual Machine. _________________________________________________________ I'm available in the forums Tuesday - Friday, 11 am - 8 pm Pacific Time Saturday 10 am - 7 pm Pacific Time Feedback? - https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/Omrakos | ||

| Avantor, Ok, thanks for the info. I'll file it away as a possible troubleshooting step to check when the symptoms you described present themselves. _________________________________________________________ I'm available in the forums Tuesday - Friday, 11 am - 8 pm Pacific Time Saturday 10 am - 7 pm Pacific Time Feedback? - https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/Omrakos | ||
