| Mortalitus , Did you do a full video driver uninstall before installing the drivers again for the new card? Also, it looks to me like the expected performance would be about the same, with the original HD 5970 having an edge, though it will draw a lot more power to run. If you're running any overlay apps while playing, I'd disable or uninstall them to see if they might be affecting performance. _________________________________________________________ I'm available in the forums Tuesday - Friday, 11 am - 8 pm Pacific Time Saturday 10 am - 7 pm Pacific Time Feedback? - https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/Omrakos | ||

| Mortalitus, Apps like Asus' Gamer OSD, EVGA's Precision X, Msi's Afterburner, etc... Anything that can be used to monitor performance or tune the video card in any way in real-time via an overlay screen. _________________________________________________________ I'm available in the forums Tuesday - Friday, 11 am - 8 pm Pacific Time Saturday 10 am - 7 pm Pacific Time Feedback? - https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/Omrakos | ||

| Mortalitus, Asus' EPU-6 Engine could potentially be involved as it manages power saving for components including video. It would't hurt to temporarily disable or uninstall it while troubleshooting. Are you still able to put back in the HD 5970 to confirm it's working as you'd expect? _________________________________________________________ I'm available in the forums Tuesday - Friday, 11 am - 8 pm Pacific Time Saturday 10 am - 7 pm Pacific Time Feedback? - https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/Omrakos | ||

| Mortalitus, "ASUS EPU-6 Engine is a ASUS motherboard power management utility that automatically balance its power usage according to the system load. ASUS EPU-6 Engine has a easy to use interface that helps you to monitor and adjust the power saving mode of motherboard components including CPU, VGA card, memory, chipset, hard drives and CPU cooler/system fans performance." Just to be safe, I'd not use it while troubleshooting. I'm not saying its the cause of your performance not being higher, it's just a step to eliminate something as a possible cause. _________________________________________________________ I'm available in the forums Tuesday - Friday, 11 am - 8 pm Pacific Time Saturday 10 am - 7 pm Pacific Time Feedback? - https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/Omrakos | ||

| Mortalitus, Ok, I'm about to leave for the night. Since all I'm really trying to figure out is why your old card worked and your new one doesn't, when they're at least equal in performance, I asked earlier but didn't see a response. Are you able to put your old card back in and confirm it's still working as originally said? We've seen a lot of reports recently about your exact symptom but they've all been Nvidia cards for the most part as I recall. Our QA department is investigating it though and haven't gotten back to me with any results. One thing I've seen help that I haven't mentioned is using a low number of sound channels, like 32 or even 16. That seems to help a lot of people but not all of them. _________________________________________________________ I'm available in the forums Tuesday - Friday, 11 am - 8 pm Pacific Time Saturday 10 am - 7 pm Pacific Time Feedback? - https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/Omrakos | ||
