FPS FIX - From 15 to 120 fps!!(1)Category: Technical SupportMay-20-2014 1:50 PM PDT (10 years ago) Go to Blizzard forum post
Hi all

First of all, this fix is for notebooks, so dont know if it will solve any problems regards low fps on desktop pc´s.

I have a laptop with a gtx 850m, and have had performance issues the last couple of weeks, and the problem is that Diablo 3 is running on integrated graphics and that cant be changed, I even tried to solve it with different solutions that have been posted on this forum, but none of them worked.

I link to this thread because there is a bluepost that confirms there is a problem and they are in contact with nvidia regarding this issue: http://eu.battle.net/d3/en/forum/topic/9952285244

Now to the fix. i have been in contact with Nvidia support today and they have found a way to force Diablo 3 RoS to run on the dedicated gpu.

Step 1: You have to download a 3rd party tool called NVIDIA Inspector. Click on the link below & download the free tool

http://downloads.guru3d.com/downloadget.php?id=2612&file=1&evp=ba62db7eeaba59106a67c513e8018e68

Step 2: After downloading & installing this tool, click on the "Configuration icon" as shown in the picture below:

Step 3: You will now see a list of editable options. In the top profiles tab select the game "Diablo III" & scroll down to find the option "Enable application for optimus"

Step 4:Here you shall set it too "SHIM_RENDERING_MODE_ENABLE" Apply the settings & check if you are able to play the game with the NVIDIA card

Thats it!

Please let me know if you have any problems with it or if it doesnt work.

Hope it fix some of yours fps problems:)

Locking this thread as it's from 2014.

If you're seeing FPS issues at the moment, please create your own thread and please include your system specifications and a DxDiag report if possible, so we can investigate:

Thanks.
