1000+ hours on a char, now I gotta start over(1)Category: GeneralMay-15-2014 11:54 PM PDT (9 years ago) Go to Blizzard forum post
Just to get new legendaries in ladder mode. Does anyone see a problem here? I really have ZERO desire to start a class from level 1, a class that I have already spent 100s/1000s of hours on. I just want to play that class at level 70, and i want to farm/get rewards at level 70. Diablo 2 had no respecs, and so it made sense to re-level the same chars over and over and over again (to try different specs). This is not diablo 2. You can change spells whenever you want and as many times as you want. If you force people to start from level 1, just to get new content...... that's just sad. Extremely sad.

I haven't even come close to finishing a full torment set at level 70. Now Blizzard wants me to start from level 1 with no gear, just to get access to NEW legendaries and NEW rift modes. What the???????? Are they trying to make people like me quit?

As we can see, there are SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO many threads on this issue. Many people feel the same way I do. Of course, there are people who don't mind re-leveling from 1 over and over and over again. But there are also allot of people who hate doing that. So my advice to Blizzard would be: cater to everyone as best as you can and not just one particular group of people.

Taken from the US thread http://us.battle.net/d3/en/forum/topic/12675577630

I just want to add, I feel the same way but there is a place for ladders in diablo but only people who have the time can/will play it to get the new legs.

Now I have an idea why not move over the ladder only legs to the normal game when the season is done and there is new one starting or even hold them back for 2 season so they are delayed. So normal players that don't have the time to play a lot can also have fun with the new legs.

I know people are going to come and say what is the point of ladders then. But still you can play ladders to be the first to have them and be the first on the ladders.

There after you will start a new season ladder then the normal players can get the legs drop in normal play mode.

Just an idea, then more people can enjoy the new legs

This idea was brought up during the Two-Year Anniversary Livestream actually. :-)

What was also mentioned in the livestream was that we want there to be incentives for people to play in seasons, but those who have no interest in ladders should not be at a disadvantage.

well, ppl like me, who do not want to start all over - are in a disadvantage A WHOLE SEASON LONG

As mentioned by Josh and Rob in the video, there needs to be incentives for people to play in seasons, which means that it is possible that you may not have an immediate chance for getting those seasonal items if you have no intention of playing in seasons and ladders, but that is not the same as you being denied any chances for getting seasonal items—if seasonal items are rolled into the normal item ecosystem once a season is over, then nothing is detracted from your character since you are not being "forced" to make a choice between rewards or no-rewards... you will still get your chance at these items like everyone else, but should you chose to play seasons and ladders, then you may get your chance sooner.

It is important to add to this that the developers are still working on the seasons and ladders rewards scheme, which I believe was mentioned by Josh and Rob in that video at some point as well, so that means not everything is set in stone yet. This also means that we are quite interested in your feedback and thoughts on what you feel constitutes a good and fair seasons and ladders rewards scheme both for those who are interested in seasons and those who are not.
