Pros
2. There is no temptation/feeling of requirement to sell GG items 3. You can show off the powerful items you have found (how people show off their BOA crafts now). This is probably the best thing about it. "OMG you have a ______?!" 4. Promotes close group play (I can now receive monk items from the people in my party that i wouldn't have found solo) 5. Promotes using skills/specs you might not normally use if you find a unique item/affix 6. All the best gear is no longer purchasable. Bots can't farm the gear and sell it. And for the people who claim they can sell accounts, which they can, that would only appeal to people who haven't racked up 200+ paragon levels on their own account. No one would drop 200 paragon levels to get an item, and if they do, grats on being dumb. Cons
2. Can't buy/trade for specialized gear to complete a certain spec. 3. Can't sell items for real money 4. Might take forever to or never find an item you want/need for a spec 5. Finding items you don't want/wont use and having to salv them even though they're good and valuable 6. Promotes group play, which is a negative for people who prefer solo 7. No way of getting the satisfaction from making a good trade (buying low and selling high, or just getting an item you really needed for a bargain price). 8. Can't buy whole sets and give them away (mostly to do with AH removal and partly BOA) ---If you think I left any pros or cons from the list please let me know. I'll add the non snarky ones :) ~~Now for my biased opinion~~ I think a lot of the positives outweigh the negatives. What I would like to see addressed though is negative #1 and #2. I think allowing for some kind of 1 time trade within 24-36 hours or to someone already on your friends list would be cool. What I don't want is the ability to outright sell an item and have it keep its power, that would just negate the BOA system completely. Maybe the legendaries don't bind until identified, allowing you to give something to a friend if you know what it is (like a demon hunter cloak) before you ID it. I'm not sure what the solution will be for BOA, but it's on the right track. It's not perfect, but I think this is what the game needs and I look forward to testing it in beta, seeing what it's like for myself, and then giving my constructive criticism about it. __________________ I came up with some ideas for solutions (some have been mutually presented in this thread) to the boa problem.
2. Create a special list of friends (from friends list) of maybe 10 people you'd want to give an item to, clan is already included. Then you can trade an item within 48 hours. After 48 hours it binds to your account. Friends and clan members added after the item is found are not eligible for the item. 3. Remove 1/2 of the item's max durability each time it's traded to another person (this wont happen if you accidentally drop it on the ground). It can only change hands 2 times before destroying itself. A warning will appear before this happens. (A side note: It would be great to be able to lock my items to my character so I don't accidentally drop something on the ground. It's happened before when switching between mh/shield and dual wield since you have to drag the OH on the shield to replace it) 4. Give self found items some kind of inherent bonus to the person using it--either+ 10% stats, or the ability to get another option on a mystic reroll or something of this nature. The bonus property would disappear on trade. 5. Give the character a bonus for using self found gear. Something like "For each slot in which you have a self found item, gain 5% of your main stat." or something along those lines. That way, a maxed out self found person might be better off than someone who trades for items. 6. Have some kind of in game mail system. I could send an item to a friend on my list within 2-36 hours of getting the item and it will remain in his inbox for ~10 days or whatever the max is. If he wants it he can take it and it will be bound to him. If he doesn't want it he can return it and it will be bound to me. I realize this is probably the most complicated solution, but I thought I'd share. edit: added parenthetical to con #1 edit2: Added con 7 and 8 edit3: Added parenthetical to pro#4 edit4: Added my solution suggestions [Post edited five times, last edit by Amiar#1992 at November-15-2013 9:16 AM PST (9 years ago)] | ||

| I know a lot of these pros and cons are very subjective, but I think this is a good compilation that reflects a lot of the general sentiment that I've been reading on the forums. I'm very thankful to see everyone take such an interest in this, and we really appreciate all of the feedback. | ||
