[Feedback] my 1st RoS feedback letter to the dev team.(1)Category: GeneralApril-28-2014 4:01 PM PDT (9 years ago) Go to Blizzard forum post
I wanted to write a long feedback post but I thought I’d cut them up in smaller feedback topics over time to make it easier to digest. Still pretty long but I did my best :D

My letter and feedback for D3-RoS dev team part1:

First of all I realise that a lot of small changes can be a humongous load of work involving every section of the dev teams. So thanks for taking the time to take feedback in to account.
I wanted to start out my 1st feedback topic for RoS with some point I think are important and some questions I hope someone with blue letters can answer :). I’m going to give a scenario on which I encountered my feedback/question and the feedback/question after it, to show my thought process behind it.

====================================================================

Crafting:
Story: Since RoS, Crafting items changed a bit, the hunt for white items is on. I found plans to Craft the legendary belt Hellcat Waistguard and by random luck I found a Superior Archon Sash just after it. So I went to Craft my legendary belt and found that the superior bonus on the items had disappeared.
Feedback: Please make white items more valuable in the Crafting process, having 14% increased armour or damage can make crafted items a lot more powerful and interesting to keep an eye out for superior white items.

Crusader:
Story: I have a lot of feedback on all the Classes, since I played them all. But I wanted to start out with the Crusader because I think it needs the most love for now. The Crusader looks like this strong character with a huge shield and thick armour that stands in the middle of the armies of hell and bashes demons around, Blocking attacks and just surviving. But I feel there is a lack of potential on usefulness on Blocking. The damage boosts on skills seems trivial and the only other added benefit is a healing passive.
Feedback: I think Blocking has a lot more potential for the Crusader role, personally I would like to see a Resource regeneration (much like demon hunters Night Stalker) where the player has the change to really get themselves in to huge groups and benefit from the situation.
Question: Do the Crusader skills that scale with blocking work as intended? 300% from 70% Block Rate seems trivial damage. It’s amazing first 40 levels but falls off really hard after that.

Rifts:
Story: This is where I spend most of my days, chilling out, maxing, relaxing all cool. Even though the mobs and scenery has some RNG. I still feel Rifts get a bit repetitive after a while and some are so unpleasant everyone in the clan decides to skip entire floors just because of the area.
Feedback: One thing I think would be nice in Rifts is to add Events. Events that don’t normally spawn in Adventure Mode, or only strong ones like the Cursed Chests with bosses. However events like clearing a certain amount of mobs (or specials) within set time, or finding a number of switches to open a special event/loot/chest on a floor can might make the task a little more interesting than pure grind till the Rift Boss spawns. The second feedback part is, I suggest putting out poll votes on what area’s people would like to see more in rifts and which they’d like to see less, and maybe change them around every once in a while based on that.

Lobby:
Story: I’m pretty sure this is already on some list somewhere. But I wanted to mention it anyway. The Lobby does not support the current game modes and gameplay. There is a lack of ability to find games and options to filter or to set for games.
Feedback: It would be awesome if we could have a lot more control over what games we want to search for and what games we will actually join apart from the quick join system. Right now the only options to choose from is Monster Slaying, Key Wardens and Brawling. While there are Bounties (different acts), Rifts, Material Farming in the game as well now. While Material Farming even very specific, like certain act Bounties. This is why I feel there should be a lobby mode with a whole lot of options to set and filter from.

========================================================================================================================================
I have some extra questions to ask about the game and where the plan is headed, I would love to have a designer answer and explain some of the questions related to gameplay with the design process behind it. (I understand a lot of design and changes are ongoing processes that can’t be shared, If there is nothing to report but being looked at. That is a good answer as well :P)

Questions:
• Are Bounties working as intended? With split Bounties for instance, people are only joining to farm Act1 and leave again. Leaving the game with less players unable to fill up (unless players invite friends).

• Are Crafting Materials working at all? They seem to subtract from engaging gameplay and game flow. I feel there are a lot of Crafting Materials to hunt from specific monsters, instead of naturally encountering these powerful monsters in the world and finding materials over time. Any changes or comments in mind that you can share at the moment?

• In some area’s FPS drops are terrible for a lot of players. Rakkis Crossing is one of them where it usually goes bad when action happens (has been since d3 release). Another one is the burning Westmarch part. Not all people experience them but a big portion of the players sure do (at least 80% of my clan). Is there any progress for a solution on this problem in sight? As a Hardcore player I sometimes have to stop progress or rifts due to the risk involved playing on FPS drops down to 7 FPS. (p.s. I personally think this is related due to heating effects on fire? An option to turn this off might just save the day for a lot of players).

I would appreciate a small comment from a blue when you read this topic so I know my feedback has been seen.

There's some nicely written feedback in this thread, and although I do not have any comments right now in regards to the various topics brought up here, I just wanted to say that we really appreciate the constructive feedback :-)

I have been saying this a few times before, but I would like to say once more that even though you may not see a blue posts in a thread, that doesn't mean that we are ignoring it.

We spend quite a lot of time every day on these forums reading and forwarding feedback to the developers, and we will of course reply to threads whenever we have some information we can share about the topic in question.
